So then every game that launched in October flopped?

I hate the word 'flopped'. They did badly.

Perhaps October is going to become a dead month, because everyone knows crazy deals are just a few weeks away.

Yes, that's something I've considered too. MS could well have set the wheels in motion with their crazy deals last year and now people are playing the waiting game. Black Friday could become even more of a stampede.

The PS5 Exists.

Bombctobor!

PS4 BOMBA! down YoY with a pricecut?! BOMBA!
Uncharted NDC BOMBA!!
Halo 5 sub 1 million? BOMBA!
XB1 is the only "decent" seller. its 300k, up YoY, but with its biggest exclusive it should have been more.

Also, where is MS's $400 million from Halo 5 coming from? With around 1 million in physical game sales coming from the USA and only some % of 305K as direct hardware revenue, where's the rest of the revenue coming from? Has the world outside of the USA suddenly become a far more popular place than the USA for Halo?

I've been thinking the same thing. I just can't see them shipping in $400 million worth of Halo-stuff and then brag about it. Well, I quess it's possible tho.

Maybe. Doesn't seem very smart tho, given that this PR is mostly aimed for shareholders, it's misleading. Their PR is just making things worse.

they probably felt pressured to release a PR statement or people would have thought it would have under performed. they probably knew what people would know the numbers, so they threw them off with the 400 million PR, which you are still going to see people use. and fanboys use

No way it's true. Halo must've done at least 1.5-2mill

How much does nba typically do?

Well I think majority of their customers and gamers don't read their PR or even follow sales so feeling pressured just seems unreasonable. And if they were going to do their PR with shipped in $´s why include hardware at all? Yeah sure 400 million is impressive number to throw around, but it just backfired.
