Forums - Sony - Where is PS Now?

Sony doesn't talk about it. No official numbers or anything. So far it's limited to PS devices, the devices that probably need it the least it imo.

No Android TV support, no Apple TV support.

They talked about how they were gonna bring it to tablets but nothing so far.

Do you think the success of the PS4 changed things for PS NOW? Is SONY not as enthusiastic about it as they were before?

Discuss.

I think smart tv's also have ps now as well but yeah, I'm sure things aren't great with it. I have a decent internet and even then, I rather use my ps3 to play my games than pay for a subscription.

It's still in regional rollout. I reckon they'll bring it everywhere then drop the price.

They won't announce numbers because, unlike plus, ps now isn't designed to have subscription retention. Being able to play 250 games with unrestricted access means anyone willing to pay the price needs only 3 or 4 months at most to play all the games he wants

Still in a very early process.

What numbers? This is not a a retail product that they track through units sold.

Sony Blu- Ray players, plus Sony and Samsung TV's have it too.

There were also a bunch of news stories the other day about them adding 105 games to the service all at once. Brining the total to over 250.

Support for PSNow has been good, but they haven't given us any usage numbers or anything.

Bet with Adamblaziken:

I bet that on launch the Nintendo Switch will have no built in in-game voice chat. He bets that it will. The winner gets six months of avatar control over the other user.

the thing is No one is enthuseastic about streaming old ps3 games, as excepted it flopped but i think Sony will offer ps4 games in the future ounce ps4 sold like over 60 million

I agree with you, OP. Doesn't seem like it's doing well, unfortunately.

How can I flop if they've only released it on two markets,  haven't finished adding ps3 games and haven't rolled it out on most devices yet.  And they haven't advertised it to the mainstream yet and won't until it's ready to.

They recently added over 100 new games so they're busy in the development phase.

If you're saying this flopped you might aswell say ps VUE flopped.

This is just my guess but it probably isn't doing all that well or nearly as well as they had hoped and they're just quieting shifting priorities to areas that ARE working for the PS brand. If you think about the Vita, and Kinect for MS, this is how companies these days deal with things that aren't doing so well. They keep quiet about it and then slowly phase it out by allocating resources into other more successful areas.
