That's literally the opposite of what they said.

Well, where else could you possibly announce free-to-start mobile games better than Facebook? It makes sense.

You know it deserves the GOTY.

People are reading way too into this. All Kimi is saying is that a lot of people have Facebook and Twitter, so those people will have a lower barrier to entry than they would without the integration. If you have ever used Discuss or something, that's all this is.

It's the "log in through Facebook" option.

During Nintendo’s recent investor’s Q&A, they were asked about whether they would use social media like Facebook or Twitter “just to introduce how easy it will be to create a Nintendo Account, or do you plan on a more extensive coordination with and use of services such as Facebook and Twitter?” Nintendo president Tatsumi Kimishima responded:

By encouraging Facebook and Twitter users to make a Nintendo Account, we will be able to provide messages and various services that we introduced today directly to them. If they become attracted to our character IP through these communications, our content will be made available for purchase on smart devices, so we are expecting this will lead to them purchasing our games. Like such, having consumers create a Nintendo Account has many diverse possibilities.

Sour

Q&A:   Will you make your own thing, or coordinate with other services like facebook/twitter.

Answear: you need to make a nintendo account (ei = cant log in via facebook or twitter for it).

however: we will be able to provide messages and various services, we introduce today directly to them (via facebook / twitter).

This sounds like ads to me (via facebook/twitter), targeted ones.

Maybe small game demos run through facebook? after level 1-2, it promts a "come play it on nintendo account thingy instead".

^ yes.

But it sounds like "you cannot log in through facebook" is the answear he gives.

You need to make a nintendo account and use that, is what he says (my understanding of it).

Being able to link your account to Facebook, Google, Twitter, etc. is a pretty neat way to link all your accounts together

I personally won't be linking them, but it is a nice feature to have

That's not the impression I got at all, and earlier, Nintendo talked about how they wanted to make it easier to create an account.  I think what they're saying is that by allowing them to log in with facebook, they'll be able to reach a broader audience, which is a solid, if obvious, idea.0

Hey, this sounds like a good idea actually. Looks like Ninten's got the right ideas with their new account system.
