My kid played the download and has not seemed too interested in it. There would have to be a cartoon for them to even have a chance. I know they were supposed to bring it, but it has not caught my kids eyes yet.

I dont blame them.

As a big fan of pokemon/Digimon, Yokai watch is soooo unappealing in its monster/character/ overall design.

As a non Pokemon fan, Yokai watch looks way more appealing than Pokemon to me (I like Pokemon, I just got tired of it 10 years ago lol), the way it blends japanese mythology into the formula is very interesting, and its combat system seems pretty original, the graphics are superior and the art design is full of charm, that´s one of the reasons why it became so popular on Japan, looks far from unappealing.

not on launch day. It will be a sleeper hit. They need some cross promoting with the next big pokemon though. A little pokehelp will get this game over the hump.

No, it doesn't have the toys/anime/marketing that it helped make it a hit in japan

Yes it does.

Not in the US

I think it will do okay, but nothing like Pokemon levels

Definitely interested to see what actually happens though

The anime is on the Disney channel in the US right now and Hasbro is handling the toyline. It's already got two different American commercials from Nintendo as well.

If this were the late 90's-early 00's, I'd say yes. Right now, I'm not sure. It won't be like in Japan though.

How are you going to tell me what is appealing and what is not?

Well, if you are saying that is not appealing to you, ok, but is pretty obvious that the game has appealing when is such a hit in Japan.

It will sell well but nothing more. It won't be the next Pokemon in the west.
