Forums - Microsoft - AngryJoe reviews Halo 5

I love how some people accuse Joe of being a Sony fanboy. Joe was always pro M$ and only reviewed 360 games. He finally realized where the most consistent quality is, that is all. I do think he should try some more Ninty stuff. He was harsh on KZ Shadowfall and The Order 1886 so some people should take off their goggles and admit that he may be right to an extent. So far my favorite review was Aliens Colonial Marines, that was comedy gold.

Make games, not war (that goes for ridiculous fanboys)

I may be the next Maelstorm or not, you be the judge http://videogamesgrow.blogspot.com/  hopefully I can be more of an asset than a fanboy to VGC hehe.

It's really weird how Sony fans see something that doesn't relate to them from a negative perspective and and XB1 fans see something that DOES relate to them in a positive perspective. What we need is a huge Halo fan to give us an honest perspective on Halo 5 ...

Once I finish the campaign I'll make a review

Thread title is better called: Does a different oppinion relate to moneygrabbing or is ego clouding gamecommunitys mind?
Cause damn alot of posters in here really act butthurt about this review and make invalid assumptions on top of that.
angry joe is a halofan himself, played trough the whole game and he also summed up the good things about it,the negatives we got shown right in our faces so he doesnt make them up.
His review is valid for me and the score is also his right to give.

Most of the review is BULLSHIT and thats a fact.

Just because he rushed the campaign in co-op doesn't mean it only takes 4hrs to complete. Pleanty of people have been playing it for 7+ hours.

His points on microtransactions were complete BS. It does not take 10+ games to hit 10k points. If he was any good at the game, he'd be req'ign gold every 5 or six games.

His other stupid and invalid points like lack of BTB have already been addressed bt 343.

Anyone with half a brain would see 15 free DLC maps. = Multiplayer experience of the generation. Automatic 10/10 for MP alone.

The review isnt BULLSHIT,it just isnt what you want it to be.

More people in this thread find he does make valid points and alot find those negatives in the game rather a big deal, you cant decide how they should weigh the negatives in their place.

Everyone please keep in mind that the subject of this thread is a review about Halo 5. Making critiques about other users and fanbases is off-topic and in some cases against the rules, so please refrain from doing so and return to the topic at-hand.

4 hours 30 mins.... campagne on normal mode.

Almost a hour of that is Cutscenes.

Thats painfully short. The Order gets ripped apart for this same fact but Halo gets away with it. I bought every Halo game up until the one in south Africa so I can safely say every one of them post Combat evolved gets progressivly worse, this seems to follow that trend. I suspect paid reviewsor some ridiculous embargo rules designed to get a higher score from the reviewer.

Its almost as if Halo 5 has something more than a boring campaign you can platinum in 5.5 hours. Competitive MP, co-op, Warzone huge battles, idk.

The biggest issue I have with the game is the reason I haven't bought it, yet: The lack of splitscreen. And even if it were included, my co-op partners don't really play anymore. Aside from that, looking at the reviews, it seems like a truly excellent game. The other complaints don't phase me at all. I'll get it before the year's end..... but then, I said that about The MCC and I never bought that one, either.

Angry Joe is one fire this gen: 4/10 The Order 1886, 6/10 Destiny and now 6/10 Halo...

On Legendary the campaign length is comparable to Reach or Halo 3, definitely longer than Halo 4 but not twice as long. Putting that aside, the real issues IMO are the recycled boss battles, the story not being accessible without SOLID lore knowledge and ending the campaign as if you were half way through.

The plot has great potential (although I was expecting and hoping for a "Master Chief Gone Rogue" plot) but alone it's easily the weakest of the franchise. However, the levels are fantastic and have huge replayability value for a shooter (minus the recycled boss encounters).

Can't agree with Joe on multiplayer though. Where Halo 5's plot is the weakest, MP is the strongest.

His score seems to be heavily influenced by the (ATM harmless) microtransactions and the fact that splitscreen is gone (is it really 343i's fault that the One isn't strong enough?), which isn't fair IMO.
