Destiny doesn't do microtransactions, instead they sell expensive DLC or put out updated retail releases. $60 for original release, $35 for Season, and $40-$60 for Taken King. I'm not buying more Destiny content until its dirt cheap. Because fuck Bungie.

Destiny DLCs are free now for a year (two DLC expasion).
You will only pay for the next big expansion in Setember 2016 * or Destiny 2 if they release it *

Free for a year? They should be free forever.

But hey, the damage control they're attempting to do shows they really fucked up with that game.

Microtransactions can be arguably better than expensive DLC that splits the audience. DLC hurt the already underwhelming PvP.

Edit: I just checked to see if the DLC was free, its currently not. Still $35 for Season Pass, or $20 for each DLC. Its amazing they don't even have a price cut.

Let's me try to explain again...

TKK: $60 * full * / $40 *upgrade
DLC 3: free
DLC 4: free
Next big retail release: $60 * full * / $40 *upgrade (my guess)

DLC 3 and DLC 4 are free forever.

You will only pay for Destiny every year in September for the major expansion.

Are you serious? You expect two thirds of Xbox one owners to buy this game? It would be cool if that happened, I'd be awstruck but that aint happening. And it aint gonna sell "millions" of x1's, maybe a million at best....but thats optimistic.

I don't think it will sell 10 million... 7-8 million max.

If MCC could sell close to 5mi I don´t think 8 mi is far fatched.

MS will bundle H5 to the death. I also think Halo 6 is 3 years away and won´t be a proper FPS spin off in between.

Ah, so it sounds like they're going to opt for microtransactions instead. Which is fine if they don't make an already medicore game worse.

But again, I'm gonna wait for Taken King to be like $20 before I even consider buying it. Which shouldn't take long.

That's in Warzone. Which he said.  Anything else is cosmetic.

So it is pay to win... that is what the original post complained.

Microtransactions on MP is even worst than on SP.

I hope Destiny didn't do that... for while it is only Dances (comestics).

Warzone unbalance is more due in game progression than power cards.

Think about Dota 2 XP and Gold that early in the game can push a player far above the others. It very unlikely that only one time have power cards and they only effect the late game.

Microtransaction only for emotes they said... they will never do for ingame weapons or gears (they said that not me... so if they lied it is not my fault).

And I guess it is working... the Thriller Dance made everybody buy it (yeap I spent money to buy the emote).

Does that include the 3/15 chapters that he says are walking around and talking to people only?

I assume so...

But its fine, people buy Halo for its kickass online multiplayer right?

Not saying Halo is the same as KZ, but for me, the sp is just as important as the mp. The story in sp must be awesome and it must have a decent length. KZ:SF had an okay length but the sp was the most uneven one in the franchise and the story was weak. The MP was fun but lacking some of the awesome things from the 2 and 3.

Looks like H5 might have a similar issue with an sp that doesn't live up to previous games and mp that has things removed or changed that were important in previous games.

I hope this isn't a trend that all similar fps's go through.

Campaign looks even more disappointing than I thought it was.  So short and it ends on a cliff hanger...really?  I don't give a shit about the multiplayer.  I'll pick this up when it enters the bargain bin, probably won't take that long.

I imagine Silver will be for cosmetic stuff at first. But maybe Silver will become traded for other currencies in the game. Hence, it will likely be turned into a time saver at some point. I don't think they will ever outright sell weapons and armor for Silver.

Frankly, I'm okay with that. If its just a time saver and the game itself is balanced well to not make microtransactions feel necessary, no harm.

And again, I prefer them going a route that doesn't split the audinece like TTK did.
