Why bother?  Both are great in different ways.

I appreciate more titles being added to the gaming equivalent of netflix PSNOW.

I also would love to get rid of my Xbox 360's if all my must have titles are available.

I say it's a win-win regardless which side you are on.

It'd cost a minimum of 500-1000 dollars to buy those games to play on X1. "Free" is such a misleading word. I'd go with PSNow. Great for binge finishing last gen backlogs.

I wil Roronaa on this one: anything I pay or have paid for is not "free;" in this case, it's "transferrable" and/or "backwards compatible."

Because our price on this item is lower than the manufacturer's suggested retail price, the manufacturer does not allow us to show you our price until you place the item in your shopping cart. Retailers like Amazon have the legal right to set their own prices independently. Adding the item to your cart allows Amazon to show you our price consistent with our goal of always offering you the lowest possible prices on the widest selection of products.

In which case you have most likely played them to the extent you want to and thus the b/c for games you already own is a bit limited in value. I think this is why sony came to the realisation that b/c isn;t really that big of a deal for gamers even though they like the idea of it. If you already have the game, your interest in playing it again is low. If you don't already have the game then you were clearly not so interested in it in the current generation to go out and buy it and play it, it might be a game you would like to play, but it's on your B-list most likely. Therefore it is much better to put out new gen games that will interest you than put effort into delivering b/c.

PSNow allows you to pay $2 to play a game you kinda think you might like for a day or a few hours or whatever and if you don;t like it, that's only $2 wasted, if you do like it, you'll pay more and play it to the extent you want and probably wind up paying about as much as you would if you went out and bought the game new at its current retail price.

There are good points to both mechanisms for delivering last gen games on current gen consoles and one is not clearly better than the other by an objective significant margin. Ultimately the market will decide which option is better and more importantly whether it actually matters to enough gamers to make a difference. I suspect most gamers don't really care all that much for it to affect their hardware buying decision. It certainly hasn;t given me any buyer's remorse for picking PS4 before either of these services we announced.
