When you look at Naughty Dogs track record, I dont really think there can be any other dev team to match up with it.

Definitely this.

Bungie is miles better as the xbox brand has benefited much more from Halo than the PS brand from any of ND's games. Honestly, this is a fact.

MS: Bungie

Sony: ND

Nintendo: Retro Studios

I should care about what you think... why?

Because you're wrong. The OP asks which acquisition was the best for the corporation. Leaving only one good answer. He didn't ask what was best for the gamers (which would be an entirely subjective question). Halo as a franchise has sold more than all of Naughty Dog's franchises under Sony combined. This sort of thing is easily quantifiable.

And out of all those who said Naughty Dog, you chose to have a go at me. Should I feel honored?

Seriously, I don't care about you or what you think. Certainly with the way you communicate it. Just don't talk to me.

Eh, debatable. You have to look at total output.

While Bungie did great with Halo, they only out put one franchise. Naughty Dog on the other hand? Constantly pushing out extremely successful new IP and being a key part of why the original PlayStation took off the way it did and why PS3 ended up being the powerhouse it was in its twilight years. Uncharted 4 will be the 13th(!) game released from Naughty Dog on PlayStation platforms, compared to Bungie's 5 games (Destiny incl) on Xbox.

While Halo may be bigger than any Naughty Dog game alone, I think that the combined output from Naughty Dog far surpasses what Bungie did for Microsoft.

But didn't the Halo franchise outsell all the games of ND combined? I checked vgchartz and that seems to be the case (and don't include Crash Bandicoot please, Sony didn't own ND back then and they don't own the IP). If we're talking from a gamer's perspective, I'll agree with Naughty Dog, but that's not what the OP asked.

Even if Bungie left MS, they still own the Halo IP. It's for the same reason I made no mention of Rare in my post as Nintendo never owned them. 49% in shares isn't enough! :) I also didn't take Destiny into account when I made my post, just the Halo franchise (including the ones made by 343). Too bad Nintendo doesn't own Game Freak as the answer would have been very easy then!

Erm, excuse me, but this is a public forum, I can respond to who ever I please. Your post was just the first I encountered when I entered the thread. Don't be so full of yourself. Did I insult you? No, so there's no problem with the way I communicate it.

Eh, fair point if you want to disqualify the ND/Sony games before the buyout.

Edit -

Uncalled for Hynad. If youre going to behave like that I suggest you back away from the thread. Alkibiádēs did nothing wrong.

To reverse the topic a bit (if I may): which of the big 3 made the worst acquisition? I'm thinking MS with Rare. Anyone have a better example?

Naughty Dog...

Now the biggest mess was Enix, Eidos, Squaresoft one.
