Several people on neogaf have pointed out that the Dreamcast sold around 9.13 million, and not 10.6 million. So that milestone may actually have been passed a few months back :)

However the Dreamcast did this within about 24 months! (It was the fastest selling console ever until the ps2 showed up...)

The dreamcast was only a failure because at this point Sega had run out of funds to fight Sony and Nintendo... But it did great while it was there!

That happened a long time ago. Dreamcast is at either 9.13 or 9.16 million shipped (both are official numbers from Sega after it was discontinued. Don't ask me how).
