Someone in his early 20s...not really Marcus Fenix, yet no one would ever wonder if he's man or a woman.

I think androgyny is a Japanese thing, the most girly looking guys in gaming usually come from JRPG's like final fantasy, Tale's, Dragon quest etc. I also think the average Japanese male looks more feminine than we do, for example just take a look at smash bro's creator masahiro sakurai, gymnast kohei uchimura and actor yamada yuki below. Androgyny is part of japanese culture and Nintendo are japanese so i don't think links appearance will ever change. I mean has anyone ever seen a butch japanese male protagonist in any game? (Snake doesn't count because he isn't ethnically japanese).

What about Ryu from SF?

Ryu has the brawn but facially he can still be classed as a pretty boy.
I still think adult Link is stupid and should have remained a temporary gimmick for OoT. Young Link is the ideal, and he frankly should never look older than 15, and even that's pushing it. Link was never meant to be the poster for masculinity. He's just a kid on an adventure destined for greatness.

Yup, thats Legend Of Zelda.
Where did Nintendo say this is Twilight Princess art? That seems both off and very random. Twilight Princess is not highly regarded by Zelda fans, and it was released a long time ago. This is promotional art, and Link looks much more like Smash Brothers Link here.
I describe myself as a little dose of toxic masculinity.

All you did was find some art of Link holding his shield in a similar position, what's that prove? It still looks like generic character art. |

That picture is Link from TP. Also you have comparison of WW Link model and WW HD Link model, there are definitely parales with this TP Link model and Link model from promotional picture. Basically same pictures only more brighter, colorful and vibrant.

Speak for yourself, It is highly regarded by me, it is my second favourite zelda game. It has a metacritic score of 95 so it must have done something right. Go to any youtube video where somebody hates on TP and you'll see a huge backlash in the comment section.
