Forums - Nintendo - Nintendo can't even release a mobile game on time

It sounds like this app and the Nintendo account is really important, so they have to make sure it's ready and takes off. Sounds like a start to a new foundation they want to get rolling, and if it fails, well, it may not be good for Ninten at all. That may be why they delayed it, at least to me.

It looks more like Mii Plaza, with options for both social apps and minigames.

You know it deserves the GOTY.

Just be patient guys.

"Just for comparison Uncharted 4 was 20x bigger than Splatoon 2. This shows the huge difference between Sony's first-party games and Nintendo's first-party games."

Well you'd like to see a game release on schedule but I must say its a little refreshing to see a company basically screw over their holiday lineup by delaying a game they don't feel is ready as opposed to the usual approach of rushing an unfinished mess out the door and throwing a 40gb patch at it later.

I believe that game companies work differently from your job.

Well they shouldnt... They should give a programmer something to work on. Tell them to get it done by a certain time and if the programmer is not capable of doing it they should fire him and find somebody who is. Simple as that.

That's not how the engineering world works...

I bet the Wii U would sell more than 15M LTD by the end of 2015. He bet it would sell less. I lost.

They do seem to have dropped the ball this generation...Still make great games but they are not doing themselves any favors by these constant delays.

I actually agree with OP. Nintendo has gotten horrible about meeting deadlines. It really speaks volumes that they couldn't even release this cheap looking non-game that they announced yesterday on time. It's really sad how far they've fallen, but really, that's beside the point. The real point is, who in the world is going to use this thing? Who is this appealing to? I just don't get it, and I can't see how Miitomo (ugh) is going to be a hit.

Yeah.A lot may be riding on this.Plus i think My Nintendo and Nintendo Account is not quite finished yet, and since the program is vital to the game, they delayed it, to perfect the new membership program. And also about the no marketing reason.Thats also important

My (locked) thread about how difficulty should be a decision for the developers, not the gamers.

OP has every right to be sick of delays. Just because the pattern has lasted for so long that you are desensitized by Nintendo's incompetence, it doesn't mean you should defend them.

It's fine if you are only defending and coming up with excuses to soften the criticism, but brushing off OP's points completely and filing them under "non-issues" is ridiculous.
