Forums - Nintendo - Nintendo and DeNA Stocks Plummit More Than 10% After Investor Briefing, Lose $2.48 Billion in Market Cap

Nintendo is a 3rd party publisher though.  Nintendo is involved also with the development of these games. Nintendo is a 1st party publisher/developer and a 3rd party developer/publisher.  Much like Microsoft with minecraft.

...I'm sorry, what?

Cool, maybe Microsoft will buy Nintendo and Nintendo fans can play the greatest game system ever. The PS4.

@padib - With these mobile games development Nintendo is already a third party developer. I know they are not leaving dedicated systems. But let's see how they fare as mobile developer.

Dude, you know sony also made mobile apps?

Having a mobile team does not imply you are going third party

Microsoft is now the publisher of minecraft and the studio which created the minecraft games is a part of microsoft.  When the game releases on non-microsoft platforms microsoft is serving as a 3rd party publisher.

This is because of delay of mobile game, things probably will back in normal once Nintendo release first game.

I stopped worrying for years. They always seem to stick around. Nintendo for all their quirks, aint going anywhere.

Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

TBH I don't like Nintendo at all. I want them to go third party. Let's see.

haha some people take video games waaay too seriously (and apparently personally). why would someone want Nintendo to go 3rd party if they "don't like them?" these things confuse me.

regarding the topic, I don't know what to expect regarding their mobile ventures, so I will just wait and see. Nintendo is very unpredictable.

Hi

Yeah, Nintendo's share price is still nearly double what it was at the start of the year.

The problem here is that investors expect--and often demand--short-term results so that they can maximise their own gain. Nintendo are once again making a longer play, rather than rushing out a Mario app in time for Christmas, which is what investors would have preferred. Not a particularly big deal. It'll be a big deal if we get to March 2017 and none of Nintendo's first five mobile titles are a hit.

Maybe it's time to make some new investments. Nintendo is a popular brand. It could grow into new markets.

In Japan you right , but in the world , not anymore. Even in Japan is not even top 10 brand.

Indeed, and it's also still higher than the spike it made when the partnership with DeNA was announced. It seemed to have levelled off in the Tokyo trading earlier this morning. At this point, it's nothing majorly bad.
