I feel like that the Chinese workers are the new "the kids in Africa".

Do people really care? or is it just something they bring up because their arguments, whatever they may be, don't hold water on their own?

If you’re not even contributing anything to ending the poverty or the suffering, then you should especially stop bringing them up, otherwise, you only come off as tasteless.

You should be ashamed of yourself.

I know. I should've dropped the question mark

Looks like people are jumping ship from Android.

Hmm people aren't refreshing their iPads fast enough.. Which is understandable cause even an iPad 2 From 2011 is still a fine tablet to surf, watch videos and do email nowadays

I think it's more about "My iPhone 6 Plus is big enough it can replace my tablet", hence, a phablet. In addition, the tablet market (and the PC market) are slowing down majorly. But Macs hit an all-time record, somehow.

Yep. I just recently upgraded from the iPad 2 to the Air 2, and only because i needed something smaller. If it weren't for that it'd probably have been another few years before i moved on.

Are they even chinese ? China is delocalising everything in Taiwan now.

Also awareness is a good first step.

Apple has been trying to improve working conditions there, despite not being Foxconn sole customer. This recent piece, for example, barely got any publicity. Do you see snarky smartass comments about "Chinese workers" in any other thread that handles MS/SONY/Google/Nintendo financial statements? Nope. And guess what, Foxconn is a major supplier for all the mentioned companies. News outlets single out Apple because it's easy, gets them clicks and eyeballs.

That's why I say , people don't really care about what's happening outside their bubble, they just want to raise a point that's too weak to stand on its own, so they throw something about African kids or Chinese workers to augment whatever their point is.

Honestly, if that's the sole reason you upgraded your iPad then Apple has done a piss poor job at differentiating the tablet line of products from phablets. I say this as a fan, Apple has failed the iPad, especially on the software front. iOS 9 is a late step in the right direction, the iPad is finally capable of more than your big iPhone, but still way behind where it should've been by now. iPad Pro has few tricks up its sleeves but it will be hindered by its form factor imo. So the question remains, does Apple really care? They have billions, yet it seems like they have are investing more money and effort into products other than the iPad. I guess they are fine with the iPad being cannibalized by the iPhone Plus and other phablets. Unless iOS X proves otherwise.

Brilliant figures but goes to show how much they're over charging for the phone compared to how much it's costing them to make it.

over charging?

So you base value of a product solely on profit?

Erm, yes.
