I'd say Wii U but it's obvious what the answer will be from the a group of folk will likely be on here.

so saying he should get a ps4 is bad? saying he should listen to his kids is bad? people here liking the ps4 more than wiiu is bad? people having a different opinion than you is bad? How should I treat this "opinion" of yours?

So saying getting a Wii U is bad?.

Oh man I love how you've personally taken this from the other thread nad are ibnjecting it directly into this one and thinking I have an agenda, that's adorable.

Mankind, in its arrogance and self-delusion, must believe they are the mirrors to God in both their image and their power. If something shatters that mirror, then it must be totally destroyed.

you are cleary referring to the ps4 and your comments sounds like it's kinda bad or people suggesting him to get one (what's with this group of folks? fanboys or what) is bad.

Bolded 1: After reading my comment again I don't see the part I speak about the WiiU can you explain?

Bolded 2: Thanks, but I don't think it's adorable to have a agenda, a agenda is most of the times bad (someone who has a agenda isn't nice to have a conversation with, so it's not adorable)

I'd personally say a Wii U. It will have games that everyone can enjoy and is probably the best introduction to video gaming. I know two friends that have kids and both love the wii u to play video games with them.

It has free online and some good games if that is you things ( splatoon works great and Smash bros as well)

Lots of great games to chose i think Mario 3d world would be great as well as mario kart would be my highest recommendations. Also i know my friends 9 year old loves mario maker and plays it all the time.

Honestly I don't think there are any wrong answers, ps4 would be great too, but I think the colorful worlds to discover on Nintendo make it fantastic for kids ( really of all ages, I think that's why after about two generations away from nintendo products I finally went back).

Thanks to everyone who answered.

IF you do not know WHY I can't just listen to kids, please do not answer "listen to kids". Just because they want something, I'm not necessarily interested in phasing out 500€ on a console and games that are played for two weeks.

They want a PS4 because of Minecraft and Fifa 16. If we put those two games aside, I know Wii U seems to be the most obvious choice because of it's selection of high quality age appropriate games and free online. What I want to know here is if PS4 or Xbone have a decent selection of high quality age appropriate games (PEGI 3/PEGI 7/PEGI 12). And if the consoles have other features that provide value for sub-teenage kids.

Me? I wan't a white Wii U Premium with old school Zelda and Super Mario Brothers. See the problem?

PS4 isn't the only thing my kids want. They want Ipad's, Xbox One, Wii U, HDTV, BD-player, New 3DS's, Galaxy Tabs, Samsung Galaxy phones, loads of games (they likely do not even play) and lots of other stuff.

Then just buy the basic white WII U ...

If you want more memory then just buy an external hard drive, it's not hard ...

It sounds like your kids will want anything ...

Yes, they want anything (or everything), they're kids, what else can you expect?

Outside of the basic model being out of stock everywhere (is it discontinued?), it also is insulting. I could go with the basic if it had the bigger memory, but I don't see the point of paying extra for a bad fix (or "fix") for something that Nintendo caused by being a dick.

Well, if they want a PS4 give'em a PS4.

Seems like they also want some Mario games, so this is tricky. But you just got a Wii so they can still catch up some gaming there for this purpose.

Well, I'm sure they'll love their robot-dinossaurs so go with the PS4 to be prepared xP

Edit: I just read your post above, hmm, so disconsider the first line on mine.

Actually, I got Wii at launch. Counting all Wiiware and Virtual Console games, I think I have more than 70 games for it, of which 50 are boxed games. Would have bought a Wii U at launch too, but I've been waiting for the white premium model, that exists already in Japan.

It's not simply listening and assuming they don't know what they want. Like some have said, they probably have an idea on which games they want. If you have doubts on which kid friendly games to buy, I can name a few out and upcoming (in addition to Minecraft and FIFA you mentioned):

Knack
Rayman Legends
LittleBigPlanet 3
Rocket League
Tearaway Unfolded
Various Lego games
Ratchet and Clank

PS4 now requires online subscription. However, you'll get free games every month.

Am I getting banned when I say that I think that a WiiU is better suited for kids?

While Minecraft surely isn't on there, at least there's a game in the FIFA series. I assume you won't buy them games that wouldn't suit their ages. If so, most of the child/family-friendly multiplat stuff is coming to WiiU as well.

Probably better missing out on one of the wanted games and having a substitute for the other but therefore not missing out on anything Nintendo related than vice versa.

Simply. Is Halo a big deal to them?
If yes consider XB1, if not get a PS4.
