I can't understand any suggestions about cross gen title. Why not make Zelda U for Wii U and, you know, another big Zelda game for NX, just like all the 30 years before? People so obsessed with launch NX title, but that was never typical for the series ("Twilight Princess" case doesn't count, Gamecube and Wii have their own exclusive Zelda's and Wii U deserve to have one too).

Well, Zelda U is probably one of the most (if not the most) complex and expensive Nintendo has ever made. That, combined by the fact Nintendo needs to make the NX a success as soon as possible while compeeting with PS4/XBone, makes me thing that they will use everything they can to make the NX a sales success from the beginning, and that includes a brand new Zelda at launch. Nintendo doesn't want to keep Zelda U, one of the biggest titles of the generation/s , stuck with an userbase that won't reach GC levels.

Skyward Sword sold around 4 millions (correct me, if I'm wrong) on 100 million wii userbase. Zelda U easily can reach same numbers on Wii U. Userbases never affects on LoZ sales.

If they want sell more NX units with that stupid and unfair move.. Well, good luck them.

Could be a slip, could be he can't say anything, also it's still called Zelda Wii U. They haven't placed a title yet so that's what it's called. I think it will be on Wii U and NX as they won't slip the opportunity of having a new Zelda on the new system imo.

Is the team that works on mobile titles like Triforce Heroes separate from the team working on other current Zelda projects?

Aonuma: We actually have different teams. Sometimes people on the handheld team do work on the consoles, but for this it was a separate team. I want to assure you that the Wii U Zelda was not delayed in any way because of Triforce Heroes.

That's not a reconfirmation. That's saying it wasn't delayed because of Triforce Heroes. He didn't say it wasn't moving to NX. For what other reason is it that they haven't even shown it in almost a full year and presumably delayed it until the launch of the NX? It's being improved and upgraded so that it can be "NX" Zelda the next time we see the game.

Well, I'm sure Nintendo wouldn't mind selling most copies on the NX if that gives the system a great start. Just like TP did for the Wii.

Also, how is it unfair? People that have a WiiU will have their Zelda game, and people who want the NX will also have Zelda. Wouldn't it be more unfair to restrict it to one system?

You know it deserves the GOTY.

In that case you'll get one Zelda game per two generations, 0.5 on Wii U and 0.5 on NX. Before that you got 1, 1.5 or even 2 LoZ games per any generation. They can port Zelda U on NX later, I don't mind. But they must make another Zelda for NX in any way.

Making a Zelda game on the scale of TP or SS isn't as difficult as a giant open world Zelda. It takes time and efford, and they'll probably reuse a lot of ZeldaU's assets to make the next it's so complex/expensive... OoT and MM reused a lot of assets and engine, they were almost the same game. The only game I think it pushed the limits of its hardware is WindWaker, and it's a relatively simple open world compared to today's standards.

Also, I would love to have more 2D Zelda titles, ALBW was fantastic.

Welp, now I feel even more suspicious.

"Just for comparison Uncharted 4 was 20x bigger than Splatoon 2. This shows the huge difference between Sony's first-party games and Nintendo's first-party games."

Good good! Wasn't really doubting it but nice to hear more confirmation.

Now if they were to show some gameplay...
