So responding to accusations of me lying about how long it took to complete warrants being told to "grow up"? right.
I was dissappointed on the length because I completed it in that amount of time just playing it casually, the same as most people would, I wasn't skipping cutscenes, I wasn't sprinting through levels, just playing it normally.

After all of the articles stating the campaign was 15hr+ i feel quite well within my rights to be dissapointed by less than 7 hours, even if set to normal, i'll likely play it again on heroic when looking for the remaining 3 skulls i didn't find playing through the first time at some point in the future.

Also, i'm pretty sure the majority of people that will be playing Halo 5 will, just like me, play through it on normal too.

This is pure validation of my previous "deja vu" comment about The Order: 1886 and the perils of fanboyism. The length narrrative reared its ugly head, many days prior to release. In both instances, the opposite fan base harped on the value of length and (without warrant) dismissed the accounts of those who had already completed the game. We should just call this repeated nonsense, "The Order Effect." For those ripping you apart, karma is still a b*tch.

You know, the real kicker is that the length is the only negative thought I had on the game, i was enjoying it, it just ends rather anticlimatically in a move I assume taken to act as a cliffhanger, but the way its done feels more like someone handing you a book with the last 10 pages removed.

Gameplay was good, gunplay a little dated but still enjoyable, story was fairly good, but the length is what bugged me, that and the abruptness of the transtion between playing and completing, that abruptness serves only to amplify the feeling of the games length being short.

But hey, at least it has multiplayer. (not that I will be playing it of course)

christ grow up! I am sure people will finish it much faster than you. Just as I am sure it will take me many times longer than most people.

WTF? please point to anything I said that accused you of lying? I merely commented on the fact you played on normal and were disappointed in length, playing on normal is really a way to skip through these games fast, and as you have played previous ones I would have thought you would be aware of that.  if that is what you like then great, but it seems disengenuous to then complain about it being short.

Does me beating it in 6 hours 22 minutes strike a nerve or something?

Had the same reaction when I called MCC buggy a week before its release, even uploaded a video of the bugs, still people gave me shit for it and look how that turned out.

Call bullshit all you want, doesn't change a thing.

Your response to me was in reaction to this post, My response back was following the discussion, specifically in your response to the above post you said i should "grow up", so why you feel I claimed, at all, that you were calling me a liar is beyond me, perhaps pay a little closer attention to the discussions you jump in to.

Again, all you are doing is attempting to "write off" the idea that the game is short by saying "normal is too easy", most people play through the game on normal, mainly because it's the default difficulty.

Increasing the difficulty does not make a game longer, it makes the time spent to do the EXACT SAME THING longer, increasing the defense of enemies, limiting ammo supply, regen, shields, health, makes a game more difficult, however if the player is skilled then the only increase in time required to beat it, is spent hunting for ammo or waiting for the bullet sponge enemy to die.

If i made a little 2d game where you walk for 10 seconds down a hall then shoot at a boss who dies in another 10 seconds, including a hard mode where you have to shoot at the same boss for 10 hours doesn't make the game overall, a 10 hour game, its still a 20 second game, just as halo 5 campaign is a sub-7 hour campaign.

People playing destinys raid for the first time and repeatedly wiping doesnt make it a 7+ hour raid, theyre still around 2 hours a pop each, but in this instance, someone new to halo 5 (me) played it casually and bear it in under 7 hours, the official "by the numbers" infographic claims 8-12 hours for the campaign on normal, based off of averages of play testing, but don't actually go into who playtested it and their ability in FPS titles, but even then, their claim versus my experience suggests at best, close to 2 hours less campaign than claimed average, and at worst, almost half as much as claimed.

That. Is. Disappointing.
Being dissappointed that my experience with the games length doesnt tally up with the developers claims, and sharing that dissapointment is a valid criticism, and the very fact that they stated "normal difficulty" invalidates your argument, too.

The long and short of it is, I played through it on it's default settings, casually, and beat it in under 7 hours, others have done the same (VGC writer in 5, some twitch streamers in between 5 and 7), after the stories of "twice as big as halo 4" , and "8-12 hours on normal" and "up to 15 hours on campaign", 5-7 hours feels short.

Had people not hyped the campaign length I probably wouldn't have cared, but they did, and its short. if you are going to play through on legendary and take 30 hours, good for you but the campaign is still short.

BONUS!, heres some review quotes for you.

Lazygamer: "A short, disappointing tale makes nearly no progress in 343’s trilogy"
USgamer: "
The campaign mode hits some great highs over its somewhat short 15-mission span"
HardcoreGamer: "
Unfortunately, the campaign leaves much to be desired."
CGMagazine: "
What Halo fans should worry about is that Halo 5 drops best practice when it comes to gradually increasing campaign difficulty and replaces them with a formula that counts the number of mini bosses already defeated and respawns them all plus one more boss every few levels. Trust me, when you’re fighting 3 identical bosses at once, the whole encounter feels like it lacks originality"

And that's only from the first 10 reviews.

But yeah, i'm just being disengenuous right?

and I repeat, Grow up, not everything is a personal attack on you. and FYI "So responding to accusations of me lying about how long it took to complete warrants being told to "grow up"? right. ". you were told to grow for taking my comment as an attack, it wasn't.  I am sure the game probably is too short given the hype, but then I never claimed it was fine, merely commented on what to me is a strange choice of difficulty for someone that knows Halo games.

The game is short, I think so, plenty of people that have played it on twitch / neogaf / etc think it's too short, VGC's own writer thinks it's short, and now reviews are coming out and saying it's short.

This whole discussion started because you found issue with me saying the game was short, the problem you have is, it is.
The difficulty I played it on has little to do with it because of the way they chose to make difficulty scale in this game.

I played the game on normal because I wanted to play and experience the story, something I have been waiting years to do, difficulty does nothing there, the story IS the campaign, and the campaign is short, the progression of the story is even shorter. as i already stated, it feels unnaturally cut off when the end credits roll.

And last but not least, writing off someones discussion by telling them they need to "grow up" is no different than calling another user a "kid" or "child", both of which are considered personal attacks in the rules, so the moment you started with the "grow up" rhetoric, you were conducting a personal attack.

They used Nathan Fillion's likeness for one character in Halo 5. I can imagine who could play Master Chief if it would come to that.

Nintendo is selling their IPs to Microsoft and this is true because:

Casually beating the game in 6hours or less.... people are right to say its short.

It didnt fly with "the order" and it doesnt fly just cuz its halo.
