3rd parties just received dev kits, Nintendo is working on NX game from 2014, and some Wii U projects are very likely moved to NX.

Not exatly same sutuation, beacuse Wii U was realased just one year before PS4/XboxOne and had similar power too PS3/Xbox360, but I don't see successor of PS4/XboxOne before 2019, so thats around 3 year difference in comparison with Wii U. 

Saying that, I also dont think NX doesnt need to be much powerful than PS4/Xbox One (but it would be plus certainly), but should not be weaker than them.

Yeah, I understand that the timing is different but I still wouldn't want the same thing to happen to the NX where they cut its life span short because they need to make another system with capable hardware again early. 

At least if they make it more powerful than the PS4 and Xbox One it could fare much better against whatever the next Playstation or Xbox console might be without them having to replace it again so quickly.

Nintendo console usually have life span of around 5 years and last year usually is very empty for Nintendo game releases, so it's not big problem if Sony/MS released their new console 3 years after NX, because Nintendo will probably after 2 years again release their new hardware, but with this same "platform multiplay devices" thing maybe even earlier.

This is about that article and other NX rumors/quotes? Meh. I found it odd but hilarious that people are happy a 9th gen console will be as a powerful as 8th gen consoles. Maybe I don't see "the glass is half full" side in that way of thinking. Also, I'm sure that NX will not launch in 2016.

NX is going to be so good just like Wii U is for the Nintendo fans but for mainstream gamers who want to play 3rd party games (or) matured violent action games it will never be.



GAMING is not about spending hours to pass/waste our time just for fun,

its a Feeling/Experience about a VIRTUAL WORLD we can never be in real, and realizing some of our dreams (also creating new ones).

So, Feel Emotions, Experience Adventure/Action, Challenge Game, Solve puzzles and Have fun.

PlayStation is about all-round "New experiences" using new IP's to provide great diversity for everyone.

Xbox is always about Online and Shooting.

Nintendo is always about Fun games and milking IP's.

Just like how so many JPN devs are porting their games over to X1 from PS4? 

Having the power and architecture is just one step. Having the install base is far more important a factor than anything else when it comes to support., alongside good 3rd party relations.

Exactly. Powerful system is not what the delvelopers want as their priority, they need user base who are willing to buy their games and easy to use architecture/tools to port the game. Also PS4/XB1 library going to be huge when NX lands so their launch library should be huge and need every 3rd party game along with cheaper price than PS4/XB1 to get the success otherwise it will be another Wii U catering Nintendo fans.

That not exactly same thing, JPN devs are focused first on Japan market, and X1 is literally dead in Japan, it sold only 56k from launch.

You cant have install base on launch, on launch there is no instal base, but its important to have good sales of hardware, not like Wii U. Also for NX, devs will basically develop one game in same time for two consoles. Nintendo improved their relations with 3r party, just look how they treat now Indies.

Only thing that X1 lack in comapirson with PS4 are mostly Japanese games. I dont expect that NX will have same support like PS4/X1, but certainly much better than Wii U has, probably similar to GC support or even better.
