As ridiculous as Link dressed as Zelda?

Nah, that´actually funny.  As funny as to see a die hard zelda fan completely offended because they gave you the option to dress his childhood hero like a woman on a lighthearted spin off, "Oh how the mighty have fallen" lol

And that´s when Link is not even in this game.

They are called the triforce heroes, they are not Link, just 3 random guys, the whole game does not mention Link and that princess is not Zelda. They did that to not make fans like you angry because of the more comic lighthearted focus of this game, to make clear that this game is something different from the typical Zelda, a spin off that you shouldn't take so seriously, just have fun with it playing with friends. Yet here you are making a drama because this is not an AAA mainline Zelda.

I thought it would score at least around 78 overall. Seems that some of the features in game truly would have been better off in "A Link Between Worlds" as an expansion.

Oh, good. So, it was clearly a spin-off since the beggining. Basically, a filler because there's nothing more to come to the console. Glad to see we agree.

By your logic 90% of games are filler, everything that is not a the big AAA mainline Zelda, Mario, etc is a filler for you.

To dislike the reasons behind the existence of the game, may be legit, but to hate the game itself just because those reasons, is not. The game is a good spin off, it works, is very fun to play with friends, it has clever dungeons, great controls, a ton of new assets (yes, there are a lot of new assets, check it out, they reused the ALBTW engine but a lot of stuff is new), wonderfull music, and a fair amount of charm and humor, so why do we must hate it? If you don´t like it, just forget about it, not every game is for everyone.

Nintendo should have done the smart thing and not attached the "Legend of Zelda" name to this game. Would have saved them a lot of crap and everyone else a lot of breath. Whatever happened to Aonuma's saying they didn't want to put that name to a mere spin-off because it would people look at said spin-off differently and compare it to real Zelda games. Guess what happened now. At least they proved themselves right so there's that.

On the upside, if we're going to consider this game a spin-off despite it's name I can go ahead and ignore the Four Swords trilogy (or at least the two games called FS) as being non-canon or 'in the timeline' as well!

The first FS game came out as an expansion mode from ALTTP in the GBA version...
