Yes NX should have WIi games from launch!

Honestly I think that Nintendo needs to abandon everything Wii and Wii U related. Including VC and controllers. I don't care what they call it, but it can't be called Virtual Console. It needs a new brand and a fresh start. Abandon the whole thing. I really hope that NX doesn't have BC. The only thing from the Wii/Wii U era that can make it to NX should be the pro controller. And even then it needs upgrades to make it use the standards for controls today.

If Nintendo drags the Wii U along its only gonna be an anchor around its neck. Start fresh Nintendo!

There's no reason why the NX shouldn't be able to emulate Wii games, at this point they barely recquire power, and they still sell surprisingly well. Uness they don't put a DVD reader in favour of a SD reades, Wii emulation should be easy.

I would like them to move away with the Wii Controllers (more buttons! :p ) so if they do have a VC thing with Wii games, hopefully they can make it compatible with other controllers :/

...It can't. It'll definitely have the Wii U's VC line up from launch. I'm still unfortunately not sure about the 3DS, however. There's reason to believe it won't appear at all, such as the complete drop in support in that regard for nearly a year.

I think they'll continue from where the Wii U left off, and then just add GB(C) to the NX VC later. That being said, I think you'll still have Wii mode, so technically the Wii's VC will be there, but that will primarily be there for digital Wii retail games and the eventual GCN VC which will likely work by the same means.

But none of that will happen.

The virtual console needs to have EVERY Nintendo first party game ever released on it imo. There's really no excuse for anything less.

Knowing them. They'll restart the process again. And at the end of NX, not have everything available.

I remember thinking support for the Virtual Console on the Wii was awful...
But it looks pretty good next to the Wii U Virtual Console, and downright amazing next to the 3DS Virtual Console...
Rebranding the service (in addition to actually supporting it) may provide it with new life...
