No this is 2015 where people have micro PCs for their phones. Calls and sms, that's all I need, and battery that holds for a week, bet your smartphone can do that, oh wait.

No physical buttons= terrible gameplay.

We have to admit it. Besides people that may buy a Little Big Planet game or whatnot, no one would actually buy a phone like that.

The most extreme games people will play on their phone is Clash of Clan type of games and Minecraft.

I guarantee no Sony fanboy would play a PS2 classic on a phone instead of a console.

Sony did try that idea out... They made a phone with 2 touchpads... the sales were nay.    

There are a few problems that come to mind. Making a device that plays games present on the Vita and on par with phones today would make it a pricy thing.

That and it would probably fall in the middle of something neither audience would care for. General consumers wouldn't care if it could play higher quality games, and the gaming side wouldn't care if their portable game device acted as a smartphone.

I have an Xperia Z series phone but there's no way I'm buying a vita phone. Fuck that.

I thought they already tried releasing a gaming phone, but am not sure if that was correct..

Because they sell phones as well as they sell Vita's
