To be completely honest, I don't think that many people...care.
Sure it's a nice feature, but you don't see the Wii U or XBone outselling their competitors. Didn't even have a single week where it outsold the PS4 once.
If the PS4 had full backwards compatibility, I would seriously consider getting it if it's cheaper, but best thing would be that I can get a PS3 for really cheap then :p

PSNow is not for gamers like us, it's for casuals who may not own a console but just want to play a game or two. Yes, Sony are used the consoles as a way of establishing it but it really isn't the end game. The end game is to have it in ALL devices. It's already in Sony TVs, Samsung TVs and Blu-ray players and it will be rolled out to other devices over the years.
As far as it being a viable proposition for BC (even though it was never meant to be), it could offer a solution: If Sony can give it a way of checking what you've purchased on PSN and then offer those games for free streaming, then there's your solution.
The PS5 Exists.

Well, they have PS Now as an optional way to backward compatibility :P. So they do have something i guess.

"Nobody" cares about backwards compatibility.

Personally, i think they should focusing on serializing their own old franchise instead of doing this. We need Sly Cooper 5 and Jak 4! Or spin-off like Horizon Zero Dawn (there is a high chance it's a shared universe with Killzone).
Sony have a lot of gems dat are awaiting to be unleash!
if i was a CEO of Sony i would make them richer than Bill Gates, lmfao XD!
Just kiddin, just kiddin.

The list of exclusives releasing next year will make more money and sell more PS4s than BC ever could.

Nobody cares off the net.Everyone I know that owns a PS4 could careless about playing PS3 games on it.

Why?... Well if they released backwards compatibility.. I would sell my PS3, and purchase 3 PS4 games!!!! Game sales would totally go up for the PS4 Library by the thousands of people selling their PS3s to buy more PS4 games! and also people would totally buy PS4s too! What are your thoughts??? |
we have been over this a thousend times on the forums
the PS4 simply is not strong enough to brute force PS3 emulation, because the Cell for all it's shortcommings also had some great strengths (outperforms PS4 CPU in certain calculations) the devs used to create the best looking PS3 games .. these are simply not emulateable on PS4
and the less demanding games probably all need an individual emulator to work which is financially unfeasible, especially because demand for b/c is low and will become lower with every passing month
