Dont you think not purchasing the game though is sending Nintendo the wrong message!!

It will send the message that people still care about good horror games.

All games will be digital only in a few years anyway. There is no doubt about that.

Without the option of a digital release this game had probably not have a release in US (like its predecessor), the sales of Project Zero games have been low in US since forever.

It have been low in everywhere since forever. Including Asia.

I'm not sure what keeps motivates Nintendo to continue this pretty much dead franchise.

You must be young. Or atleast young enough to not remember the PS1/N64 or even PS2/Gamecube/Xbox eras... where we were asked to buy extra storage all the damn time. Hell most of those systems it was required to play even one game.

From the PS1/N64 to PS2/Gamecube/Xbox era the only game I recalled needing storage was Final Fantasy XI which they at least provided with an HDD.  Other than that I don't recall or have any games on those system that required extra storage.

Can you please list some examples of games that required extra storage that we had to purchase for each of the consoles you've listed as I'm curious.  I didn't even know you can hook up a storage device to PS1 and N64. :/

Actually, you needed memory cards to save data for the PS1 and 2, though just 1 or 2 were needed most. Some N64 games needed the memory pack thing, and the GC needed cards too.

Though I still think it's stupid that now more memory is needed to play one game on the Wii U cuz Ninten didn't bother to add more storage, or make a physical release!!!... >: /

It's a very niche game, I've never seen people complain about so many Vita games being digital only in the West.

But almost every game can easily fit on the cheapest memory card options (which an 8gb comes with nearly every bundle, and no game is larger than 8gb).

People do complain a ton about memory cards though, it's just a bit more managable with deleting as you go. Most digital only titles usually aren't huge as well.

But almost every wiiu game can easily fit on the console without any memory card option at all. Even in the 8 GB model you can still fit Super Mario 3D World, Splatoon, Captain Toad and Super Mario Maker in the same system, a 16GB game on WiiU is not the standart and still fits easily on the 32GB models, and if you happens to have the 8GB model (God knows why...) you can find quality 16GB pendrives for 7$, wich is far from the cost of Vita memory cards (45$ for 16GB)

I didnt realise that B grade horror or the interactive drama genre or a brand new IP all accumluated in mainstream appeal.

As far as the genre goes, it literally couldn't get more mainstream than that.

Eh, the games terrible anyway.

How is it terrible?

I know I can play the demo when it comes out anyway, since I have a lot of free space, but I want to see why.

Poor acting, poor story, repetitive mechanics, poor VA (almost certain to be worse on US version), poor controls combined with repetitive "waggle the analog to get away!", sub par graphics, slow plot, stiff characters with no real interesting drive to keep playing.

I say this having bought the game day 1 on its Japanese release.

I wasn't expecting this to be any scary, since the Treehouse footage certainly wasn't, but if this can't hold up in terms of gameplay...

Now, that just pisses me off. The second closest thing we get to a new Pokemon Snap is...a few stages in Captain Toad. Great job, Nintendo, simply wonderful.

A lso, aren't the characters bouncy in the right places? :^)

The Wii and the Wii U hardware should answer your question.

I believe that this is the most GamePad-centric title to hit this holiday season, and, well, there's really not much else in terms of software...

i disagree with that ascertion but fair enough. I do think the success of the title could be generated by Fatal Frame as well, but does not seem like Nintendo cares much at all.

I don't think it has even the slightest chance. It doesn't have the production values at all or the VA talent or likely the script. It's a very niche game, which is fine.

Almost every japanise horror game series is a niche (except Silent Hill and Resident Evil). Good to see Nintendo still support FF series at least.

twintail said:

Its called marketting, which NoA has barely done at all for it.

*shrugs*

The series is niche, I understand as much. Doesn't mean it has to stay that way forever.

You can't market something that isn't very marketable. I agree with the last sentence, but in order for it to get out of that hole, it needs better production values, a stronger plot, and much better localization. That won't happen with this game. Maybe the next, if there is one.

Eh, download only with the shitty Wii U storage space means I won't be getting FF unless they make a physical version

Should've just put it on PS4/X1 so it'd actually sell/have a better chance of getting a physical release even better that way since the game wouldn't eat half of your storage XD

Is this a joke post, or are you really completely uninformed about the ease to expand Wii U disc space or the poor FF sales had on other platforms in the past?
