No it is not. Average is a median of quality. 5 is mediocre, and most games fall above that rating.

its ok, it was my fault. the sarcasm wasnt clear at all lol. i was responding to his reply that kind of implied that a score of 6.5 is a bad score, so i responded sarcastically. if you reread the exchange, im sure youll understand. haha, anyways sorry for the confusion.

Nevermind, I had begun multi-quoting to clarify the sarcasm but as I scrolled further, I see you two worked it out... Now get a little closer... Mmmm yea, now kiss... Put a little tongue into it...

Also, I have to agree that "gamers" keep trying to move the goal post down on review scores to fit their defense of their favorite games.  When someone tells me "5 should be average", my butthole puckers to help hold in the need to lay the crap down.  Their logic is that "5 is halfway between 0 and 10, and is in the middle, or the 'average', so a 7 is a really good game!", and I swear I just want to kill myself when I see this logic laid out more often than it should be (which is never) when someone is defending their favorite game that wasn't so well received by critics!

I've actually seen this logic used by both the Sony and Nintendo fanbases a LOT.  Surprisingly, I've barely seen MS fans using it...
