Forums - Nintendo - As much as I like how SMT x FE has turned out, Nintendo should've just paid Atlus to put out a new Trauma Center.

I was thinking lately just how well Trauma Center fit on the DS and Wii, and we really haven't seen a peep of them since (though there has been a re-release on the Wii U VC lately in Japan).

I mean, think about it, it would've meant a quicker turnaround time - always a big plus - since you don't really need to change the concept around like what happened with SMT x FE.

It would've also fit with Fatal Frame V, another "Mature" game that fits the GamePad very well.

Now, it also makes sense to just put this on the Wii U because of the focus on the touch screen - something that the 3DS will actually detract from with the 3D top screen and whatnot.

Do you agree with this (good) idea?

Trauma Center franchise has actually some of Atlus' finest games, so I'm totally okay with this idea.

Trauma center is pretty good, but I´m more excited for see how this projects ends, and there is already a lot of pick up and play games on WiiU, so something like smtxfe adds more variety.

Trauma Center would have been an excellent fit as a gamepad focused game for the Wii U. It's obviously too late for it now, but I feel like a good opportunity was missed to utilize the gamepad in a fun way.

I prefer Persona Wii U-- I mean, SMTxFE over Trauma Center

But are you guys sure about Trauma center being a good choice because the gamepad? You want another game that makes you do everything in the little screen while the TV is there just because? Cause I´m not really against that, but look at Kirby RC, the game has been widely ignored for that reason, even being a pretty good game for what I´ve seen.

Trauma Team sold like 10,000 copies in North America (because all of you have terrible tastes in games).

This is actually a title that fits the GamePad focus, see? You wouldn't want to look away from the body you're operating on, so it makes more sense to just focus on the GamePad and have the TV on for the ambience and all that sweet sound advice.

It's more realistic that way, because that's what happens!

There's a difference between forced, unnecessary gamepad use (Kirby), and gamepad use that actually adds to the experience and can be balanced with the TV. For example, in Trauma Center, they could have had it so the large parts of the operation were performed on the TV, with precision operations and moves being focused on the gamepad. There are a few ways they could have added to the Trauma Center formula without necessarily abusing the gamepad. Even then, Trauma Center would belong on the gamepad, while Kirby really could have been tooled to be TV focused. There are games where you just shouldn't force touchscreen functionality, like the LoZ DS games.

Awesome idea? Probably. And I'm sure it'll be announced eventually.
Better than SMTxFE? No. No. Also no.

SMTxFE is going to grab Japan by the balls and raise Wii U sales quite well over there. All of our Fire Emblem and Persona fans in the west will want it, as well. It won't cause massive changes here, but it'll move more units at the least, unlike TC. The release of SMTxFE is better for the well-being of Nintendo, and that's really what I want. I wouldn't buy either of the games either way.
