Forums - Gaming Discussion - Amazon US October monthly bestsellers and general Amazon based discussion

With only one week left of NPD tracking, i'm going to comfortably call the month as a PS4 win. Halo 5 bundle hasn't done anything to slow PS4 sales across all retailers. It has consistent been ahead the entire month except those 2 days where the Halo 5 bundle got above it at bestbuy. That didn't last too long. Amazon showing PS4 selling more hourly which should translate to the monthly when it updates. TLoU bundle is out of stock (in stock at other retailers though) so it's probable that the Halo 5 bundle will have the top monthly position, but the Uncharted bundle is picking up its sales and so should sales from other stores. This is what i meant by looking at the whole picture because Amazon might not reflect what's really going on sometimes.

But yeah. I'm going to call it now.

As of right now i think x1 is outselling ps4 in the hour charts.

Doubtful seeing as there is only 1 XB1 SKU in the top 70 and it's still behind the NDC SKU.

3 hours since last update:

#16 PS4 Nathan Drake Bundle (down 1)
#23 XB1 Halo Bundle (down 1)
#28 PS4 Star Wars Bundle (same)*
#38 PS4 Black Ops Bundle (down 3)*
#64 PS4 Star Wars Standard Bundle (up 1)*
#75 XB1 Gears Bundle (down 7)
#86 XB1 Forza Bundle (same)
#90 PS4 Destiny Bundle (down 3)
#95 XB1 Master Chief Bundle (down 7)
#98 XB1 Fallout Bundle (re-entry)

*Does not affect this month

PS4 - 6 bundles, 5 in the top 100
XB1 - 14 bundles, 5 in the top 100

I'm still not going to call it yet but I just have a sneaking suspician Sony might take it.

I know, but, with the current install base, the previous sales figures might very well indicate a smaller volume of units moved. You did bold my true sentiment on this: 3M seems very possible, but it would be unfair to expect it to perform at the level of its predecessors, which had so many advantages.

We can look at halo 3 which sold a lot on a 15million userbase.

Or Halo 4, which sold 9.5M on a 74M userbase. That would indicate LTD sales of 2.2M units, if they sell every single unit LTD AND 17M X1's by year's end.

It's not so clear cut as "look at what they did 3-4 installments ago." I think more emphasis should be placed upon the void it is filling in the X1 library and the holiday window launch.

Still think it will be X1's month, preorders were decent and this next week will be huge for the console.

Looking forward to next month now when the Cod and Battlefront bundles finally come into play.

Well if we use that logic super smash bros for wii u hould have sold 1.2 million.

Does anyone know what's up with Amazon's weekly sales rankings? Week 4 starts tomorrow and we haven't even seen the first Week 3 numbers. And no Week 3 numbers means the Week 2 ranks likely aren't finalized yet.

Where do you see the weekly figures?

Another PS4 Bundle announced but once again you won't see it appear in the charts, you'll just see the Nathan Drake Bundle rise and Destiny appear in the top 100. Let's see if it helps the Nathan Drake bundle rise in the next 24 hours.

These "secret" Amazon bundles really bug me. Not the deal itself, but the fact that it isn't at ALL obvious to a customer that it it available. It doesn't show up as an option when you select the current NDC bundle, so how are customers supposed to even know it exists?

It will be added eventually. It's just very new. One interesting thing I noticed about the Nathan Drake + Guitar Hero Bundle is that whilst they are seen as separate items, they do seem to have a placing in the charts ... which I find odd. It's currently at #1,615 but that can't be right. Surely the Nathan Drake bundle didn't just get an accidental boost when this bundle was announced? And surely if people are looking at the Nathan Drake bundle, more people would have seen the extra game and moved that bundle up the ranks? It's just weird.
