Do you feel Konami's focus pulls towards the core gamer?

What do you think of Metal Gear Solid without Kojima's input?

Whether Metal Gear Solid 6 is the best game in the series or not, it's going to be trashed by biased journalists like it's the worst only for gamers to follow suit because it's not "a Hideo Kojima game."

Don't forget the death threats:

MGS is something special thanks to Kojima's ideals (pacifism for example), jokes and cinematic feeling. I don't think a "MGS" game can give a true MGS feeling without Kojima. The game can be fun, good or even exceptional, but it will be trashed because it won't be a MGS game.

It's gonna be way too harsh reviews if it's not Hideo Kojima involved, a massive disappointment.

Fans will recommend newcomers to get Metal Gear Solid Legacy collection + MGS 1/VR Missions physical discs + MGS 5 GZ/TP.

They had enough of this situation.

^ basically this.

Konami does need Kojima for a new MGS to stil be MGS.

It ll still be called MGS, but the "heart" of the game will be something else.

Uh, yeah you do. Just like other games that lost their producers, Metal Gear might make good games, but they won't feel like the originals.

I'm actually really curious to see how another MGS turns out if they do make one. Kojima really wanted to be done with the franchise a while ago, and Konami kept making him do more anyway. Not exactly how you produce your best work.

If they can get some people in there who are legitimately excited to get a crack at the franchise, you never know, some fresh blood could be good for MGS.

Whats the problem ? Call it another name and let it go. Gamers like new IPs.
