Forums - Gaming - Black Ops 3 PS3/X360 update: no campaign at all, online only, $50, free Black Ops

To people that are "hurt" by this:

Buy the game on next gen, pretend this game didn't come out for last gen, and realize that this is what every other next gen game is doing.

Suddenly having more options is a bad thing...

This is the part that seems like the biggest kick in the balls to me.

$20 for multiplayer, $20 for zombies, $10 for black ops. Seems reasonably priced

As other people have pointed out, that means the new single player campaign is only valued at $10.  By your reasoning, that is the same value as a 5 year old game?

Bo3 is $60 on next gen. Therefore the campaign is worth $20. Black ops 1 is $10 in stores now (I just bought the game).

you seem to be confused, activision is replacing the campaign with a $10 game and a $10 cheaper price. Likewise, that $10 game has its own campaign, multiplayer, and zombies so yes, this seems like a reasonable deal

That we as consumers has been so indoctrinated that some actually defends Activitions decision to give gamers such a half-assed of a game astounds me. Yes, it would be better not to release a7th Gen version at all instead of a slap in the face. This is just a cheap way of milking fans.

The singleplayer was removed most likely because some features didn't work well on PS3/360. The cost of porting the game to last gen went down and they're selling it for 50$ and they mitigated the missing features with a five year old game. This sounds a little shitty and it makes me a little uncomfortable that it's just 10$ cheaper than the full product on next gen consoles and PC, but I guess that's for the consumers to decide.

Most other people seem to think it is not a reasonable deal.  Replacing the campagin with a 5 year old game most CoD players already played is actually pretty worthless.  This is going to be (rightly) seen as $60 - $50 = $10.

Quite the contrary, most people would think this is a solid deal. After all, when has call of duty been known for its single player campaign. Second, to the people who have not played black ops, this adds another game. Finally, there is value in it being one of the few next gen games ported to last gen. If this bugs you so much, then just get the game on next gen. It's not like activision is the only company pressuring a next gen transition.

Get off your high horse dude. This is not a cheap way of milking fans. It provides OPTIONS. It's been done before. Since when is releasing the fun parts of a game at a lower price worse than not releasing anything at all?

If you are not even going to read the thread, why post in it?

Most people on this site/thread =/= most people in general. ex: most people on this site probably hate call of duty, but according to sales, most people seem to like cod.

Why post on this thread? Because many people are criticizing activision for providing an option for last gen gamers. Remember how mad people were when slightly mad studios didn't provide an option for project cars on the wii u? Suddenly not releasing anything for PS3/360 owners is better than releasing the fun parts of a game at a lower price?
