The singleplayer was removed most likely because some features didn't work well on PS3/360. The cost of porting the game to last gen went down and they're selling it for 50$ and they mitigated the missing features with a five year old game. This sounds a little shitty and it makes me a little uncomfortable that it's just 10$ cheaper than the full product on next gen consoles and PC, but I guess that's for the consumers to decide.
