Lets end the debate right here, right now...with a poll.

I honestly want to know how the VG Chartz Community is divided between these two notions.

1) There is a group that dont contemplate Handhelds as Consoles.

2) There is also a group that believes that Handhelds are in fact Consoles.

I would like that people vote, and share/explain their point of view in  regards of this topic.

You are free to cite dictionary definitions or simply what you believe about it.

Depends. They can be considered handheld consoles, but obviously not home consoles.

Handhelds are not consoles in the same sense that home consoles are. They are in fact different and are placed in different categories for that very reason. Different experiences and should not be compared to their home console counterparts whatsoever

Doesn't matter in what category they fall as long as you don't compare them on the same level.

The people who say they are consoles usually support how successful the DS is.

The people who say they aren't consoles usually defend how successful the Ps2 was.

Just something I've noticed. I'd say idk.

I´m just going to copy paste what I said in the previous thread, I´m tired of this nonsense debate:

They are not devices designed with the main purpose of playing videogames, not at all, nobody sells videogames for handhelds neither, in fact those are not real videogames because they are not on a homeconsole, and they don´t make profit for videogame companies, and they have been totally irrelevant in the industry of videogames for the past decades (tetris and pokemon are niche)...

Oh wait, now that I think of, handheld is just an adjective of...HOW IS THE FREAKING CONSOLE, a handheld CONSOLE.

To say that a handheld console is not a console is just as stupid as saying that a mobile phone is not a phone because is mobile... WTF?
