I dont think my gender has ever prevented me from receiving online harassment....
Females receive different harassment to men though, I will admit that.

She made the threats herself.

I know, right? It's like "violence against women is wrong". So against men is fine? How about "violence is wrong"? Feminists get zero respect from me when they think this way.
I found Sarah Jessica Parker's response to "are you a feminist" brilliant.

It's sad that this is the reality in so many cases nowadays...
Not to go too much off topic, but brazilians will almost certainly recognize this approach and its consequences in a certain winning presidential campaign from last year.

Actually, that's not how this works. Police HAVE investigated threats against GGinDC, and against SPJ Airplay, having deemed them credible (Credible, as in, the locations were evacuated). Police have NOT deemed the claims made by Quinn, Sarkeesian or Wu as credible. You're the one making the claim of bomb threats here, remember. It's called making an accusation and then backing that accusation with evidence. The GGinDC and SPJ Airplay issues were covered live, showing the police presence. Where's yours?
There's also the WAM (Woman Action Media) report, which shows that less than 1% (0.66%) in fact, of the individuals located on the Blockbot, are in fact, guilty of harassment. Which further illustrates how misguided and overblown this entire debacle has been. But, seriously, if you have some sort of evidence to suggest widespread targeting of these individuals, by which I mean actual harassment, and not people addressing the lies that they continuously attempt to push as fact, I'm all ears.

The fact that minorities are fighting for equal rights is not supossed to be threat to anyone else not included. It would be like saying, there's starving people around the world and we're giving them food because we can help and they're in need, but even though I'm able to provide for myself I feel like I'm being left out, discriminated against and even a little concerced because those starving people might be taking something away from me. It's completely senseless.
Also, real feminist don't go around claiming female supremacy, or at least that's not the way it's meant to be.
They finally got the attention they've wanted when they attacked video games. They first try to attack other mediums but no one cared. Now they go after gamers and got the huge reaction they wanted so they will keep at it until people finally start ignoring them. Then Anita will move on to something else to harass. That's what she does. She's a con-artist who was trained by teleseminar scams.
Anita doesn't even know what she's talking about in her videos. She is just given a script by Josh Mccintosh to read. He's the puppeteer and she's just his puppet.

Ironically, the more frequently the male side of issues like this are ignored, the more the 'woman are fragile and need to be protected' ideal Anita apparently despises is encouraged. Online harassment is certainly an issue that needs to be discussed, but the more you limit that discussion, the more you limit how much progress can be made. In-fact when you actively vilify the group you've excluded, you do nothing but create animosity which just perpetuates the issue further. |
That's the absurdity of it, really, and I cannot understand why these groups cannot understand that. If someone says, "hey, I don't care about your problems but you should care about mine," then they shouldn't be surprised when people shrug their shoulders and move on. It's exclusionary and divisive, not to mention a good way to create resentment--but these groups are so wrapped up in themselves that all they care about are those that they identify with.
I remember an article from years ago about a feminist who said that the problems boys are having in English need to be addressed the same way as the problems girls have with science and math. She said the response of her peers was, basically, "we don't care about that." That's not a quest for equality or working for the betterment of society, that's just trying to improve your own situation. That's where they lose my support.

What about stopping cyber bullying in general? o.o
