Alright, here's my Year 4 Update, starting with the end of season 3:

Championship Season:
I really struggled a bit starting out with my team and fell below 10th for quite a bit. I think it had to do with so many game and the fact I was prioritizing Europa League over normal League play. After that, I was able to go on a solid run and Derby County and Watford both sold their top goal scorers in the Winter window. That allowed me to play a lot of catch up as my schedule got easier to manage. As I caught up, I still couldn't beat Derby County (lost both on a combined score of 6-2) and was only able to draw Crystal Palace, but I got lucky enough to be playing for a spot in automatic promotion on the very last game of the season against Watford. It was a 3 way tie for 1st place, and I won the game 2-1. Off to the Premiership as Watford and Crystal Palace ended up the other two teams promoted.

My Europa League stay ended short in the Knockout Stage where I lost 4-2 to Sporting CP. I made $2 million for winning the group stage though.

I once again went to the FA Cup Final where I lost to Chelsea 2-0.

Premiership Season:
Starting out, I was picked to finish 20th in the league this season. Awesome.

Was given a $16 million transfer budget with $80k/wage budget. So as with all clubs with sudden new money, I spent myself to the point where I may be forced into consolidation.

Transfer Window:
Starting with the Winter Window of Year 3:
Additions:
Diego Poyet (West Ham) - 22 yo, 71 rated CDM for 400k. Last year of contract.
Bobby Wood - 24 yo, 69 ST signed on a free transfer.
Stephen Arthurworrey - 23 yo, 69 CB signed on free transfer.

Departures:
Maxime Dupe - My starting GK sold to Aberdeen for 2 million.

Loans:
Jerome Prior - 1 year loan from Bordeaux with a $1.2 million buyout.
Ben Chilwell - 1 year loan from Leiceister with a $1.2 million buyout.
Kingsley Coman - 1 year loan from Juve with $1.3 million buyout.
Krystian Bielek - 1 year loan from Arsenal with a $600k buyout.

Summer Window of Year 4:
Additions:
Divock Origi - 23 yo, 81 rated ST from Liverpool for $10 million on 70k wage. My biggest signing of the window. Very pleased with it.
Steven Berjwin - 21 yo, 76 rated LW from PSV for $6 million and $35k wage.
Braford Jamieson IV - 21 yo, 71 rated ST from LA Galaxy for $1.4 million. Bought out his loan.
Demarai Gray - 74 Rated LM from Juventus for $4.1 million on 35k wage. Pace for days.
Leon Bailey - 70 rated ST from Gent for $2 million on $7k wage
Thierry Ambrose - 73 rated ST from Man City for $3.4 million on $32k wage
Jorge Mere - 72 rated CB from Sporting Gibon for $2 million
Sebastian Vegas - 71 rated CB from Barcelona for $1.9 million

Departures:
Maxwel Cornet - $9 million to Roma. Goodbye sweet prince.
Bradford Jamieson IV - $3 million to AC Milan. I couldn't help it.
Kyle De Silva - $575k to Charlton Athletic (woo roster space).
Youth CAM - $3.5 million to Charlton Athletic
Youth CB - $2.2 million to Napoli
Youth CB - $1.6 million to Barcelona

Loans:
Andre Moreira - 72 rated GK on 1 year loan with $2.2 million buyout
Adam Armstrong - 72 rated CF on short loan with $2.5 million buyout

With all of those moves, here is my main squad excluding a few players that get some time:

I'll likely edit this as I go back for fact checking. Glad this is done.

Alright, it's about that time for another manager mode update with my Road to CL Glory with Notts County.

Season 4
Recap:
My first in the Premier League was one of feast and famine as I lead the league in goals (had the uncanny ability to draw red cards and just pour it on. I once got Liverpool down to 8 men ) but gave up far too many against top competition. Finished 8th in the league with 52 points. After being predicted to finish 20th, I'm pretty pleased with it. Chelsea won the league, with Arsenal, Man City, and United rounding out the top 4. Sadly, Watford (pred 16), Swansea City (pred 15), and West Ham (pred 17) were relegated. Leeds United, Bournemouth, and Sheffield Wednesday were promoted to the Premier League.

I had my best showing in Euro League. I made it all the way to the final against Spurs, where I lost 2-1. Lost in Semis of FA Cup to Manchester United.

Winter Transfer Window:
Bought:
Romelu Lukaku - Everton - Free Transfer - 70k
Andrew Robertson - Hull City - Free Transfer - 40k
Breel Donald Embolo - PSG - 16 million - 60k
Tin Jedvaj - Bayer 04 - 8 million - 55k
Munir - FC Barca - 8 million - 60k
Ruben Neves - Real Madrid - 6.8 million - 50k
Alphonse Areola - PSG - Free Transfer - 48k
Dominic Iorfa - Wolves - 3.5 million - 29k
Adam Armstrong - Newcastle United - 2.5 million - 25k (bought out his loan)
Rico Henry - FC Ingolstadt - 750k - 6k

Sold:
Divock Origi (83) - Ajax - 40 million (top deal of the window!)
Adam Campbell (71) - Charlton Athletic - 1.4 million
Will Hayhurst (65) - Millwall - 375k
Russel Teibert (72) - Blackburn Rovers - 1.1 million
Jon Taylor (69) - Milwall - 825k
Youth LW (77) - Manchester City - 17.5 million
Haydn Hollis (70) - Middlesbrough - 725k

As I mentioned earlier, I threw up crazy counter offers for Origi and my youth player and they stuck. I then went on a crazy spending spree. I also have encounted the strangest bug I've ever seen. I signed N'Golo Kante to a free transfer, but it would never stick. I just keep throwing money at him to sign on contract expiry. He'd accept, the news would show up in my feed, but his player icon never changed. I skip ahead to season, I can see him in my contracts/sell players window, but he's not in my squad (his player page shows for Hoffenheim). So, I'm currently paying 50k/week to a phantom player. Cancelling his contract will cost me 2.3m (!), so I listed him for loan in hopes someone else can pick up the tab.

Season 5:
Summer Transfer Window:
Bought:
Ryan Gauld - Brentford - 15 million - 47k
Hachim Mastour - AC Milan - 7.8 million - 55k
Martin Odegaard - Real Madrid - 2.5 million - 20k
Ben Swanson - Pescara - 3.5 million - 15k
John Brooks - Hertha Berlin - 22 million - 92k

Sold:
Dillon Serna (71) - Middlesbrough - 1.4 million
Olivier Boscagli (69) - Birmingham City - 700k
Emerson Hyndman (80) - SL Benefica - 27 million
Matt Miazga (76) - Leeds United - 7 million
Bobby Wood (69) - Middlesbrough- 850k

So, this was the first transfer window that made some hard (somewhat regrettable) decisions. Selling Hyndman wasn't something that I really wanted to do, but I had some big problems with crucial 1st team players. There was no way I was going to make everyone happy. I elected to sell the person who I could get the most value from out of a generally equal standing. Selling Miazga to Leeds was kinda sad, but he missed 5 months last year due to a broken tailbone, so he didn't have a chance to develop at all. Used the opportunity on the final day of the window to find a upgrade. It was between Brooks and Lucas Hernandez. Brooks won out due to higher rating and homerism.

Outside of Gauld and Brooks, the rest of my purchases were purely for depth. My team is finally good enough to where I can convince players to take a lesser role.

Anyways, here's the FUT-style squad: LINK

I really like the effort you put into this thread.

May have to boot up FIFA again pretty soon.

Thanks Carl. I post them for VGC and another forum. Not going to lie, it's pretty discouraging to see no one here care, but I'm still going at it. Hope that it randomly catches in someone's hot topics who's still playing manager mode.

Last FIFA I played was FIFA 14, manager mode left a real sour taste in my mouth.

Im assuming this one has big improvements?

Still quite a shallow experience after a few seasons.

Just play football manager if you want depth or ultimate team if you like the fifa gamplay with some team management

Notts County Road to CL Manager Mode Update

Recap of Year 5:

Finished 2nd, Arsenal won the league. Leeds, Bornemouth, and Norwich City are relegated. 2nd-4th was very tightly battled. Finished above City on GD and above Chelsea by 2 points.

Winter Transfer Window:
Didn't do a whole lot of buying, because I wanted to sign a lot of free transfers for my CL push in year 6.

Viktor Kovalenko - FC Shaktar - CM - 18m - 40k/wages
Bartlomiej Dragowski – Manchester City – Short Loan with 2.9m fee – 20k/wages

Departures:
Alphonse Areola – FC Utrecht – 12m
Ryan Gauld – Eihntract Frankfurt – 28m
Romelu Lukaku – FSV Mainz 05 – 35m
Stephen Arthurworrey – Leeds United – 875k

I know that seems like a ton of selling for no immediate replacements. I knew I was going to be very solidly in the top 4-5, so I kinda just went for all the free transfers. I think I did pretty well.

Free Transfers:
Juan Carlos – Rayo Vallecano – 130k/wages
Gareth Bale – Real Madrid – 175k/wages
Lucas Torro – Real Madrid – 125k/wages
Raphael Varane – Real Madrid – 150k/wages
Alen Halilovic – Barcelona – 135k/wages
Julian Brandt – Bayer 04 – 40k/wages
Kellyn Acosta – FC Dallas – 15k/wages (Got him as a Sproadic 1st teamer as I'm not sure how long Diego Poyet will be around)

Year 6:
So, my team looks quite different than it did in the past. Trying to get all of the players playing well together in one formation has been.... challenging. After a few games of preseason, I arrived at reality that I'm going to have to sell some of my attacking players sadly. I've done a poor job at assigning player roles in contracts, so I'm also looking for good players I can convince to be Squad or Sproadic players.

Goal for the season is to win Champions League, so I'm going all out.

Transfer Window:
Arrivals:

Marco Reus - Borussia Dortmund - 52m - 160k/wages
Lucas Melano - Portland Timbers - 11.5m - 60k/wages (Squad)
DeAndre Yedlin - Spurs - 6m - 60k/wages (Squad)
Rubio Rubin - FC Utrecht - 5.8m - 25k/wages (Sproadic)

Departures:
Steven Bergwjin - Ajax - 40m
Munir - Celta Vigo - 37m

So, I have another 33.5m to play around with and I saved it for the Winter window where I'll go after somebody big. James is currently highest rated player in the game at 93, and I tried, but Juve wanted $93m for him. Screw that.

I loaned a bunch of players out while I sorted out the contract issues and to give good playtime. If anyone cares, I can make more of the bench cards, but I didn't bother with the extras.

Here is my squad (LINK)

In addition to my Road to Glory Manager Mode, I also wanted to try a Club & Country MM inspired by docks. Here's my recap of the first season.

Alright, time for my full update of my Club & Country Manager Mode (I can only select players from the same country as the club resides).

1860 Munchen Season 1 Recap:
I won the league by a single point over RB Leipzig. Drew against them in the 2nd to last game of the season. Hit a killer goal from 30+ ft out to equalize quite late in the game. Promoted 4 youth players at the end of the season, and I think I finally found a future star with a 61 rated 15 yo LW.

Summer Transfer Window
Bought:
Felix Platte - FC Shalke 04 - 950k - 5k/wages
Timo Baumgartl - Stuttgart - 1.35m - 7k/wages
Gianluca Waldschmidt - Eintracht Frankfurt - 700k - 3.2k/wages
Maxwel Christiansen - FC Ingolstadt - 700k - 2.2k/wages
Sinan Kurt - Hertha Berlin - 550k - 2.1k/wages
Boubacar Barry - KSC - 750k - 3.5k/wages
Odisseas Vlachodimos - Stuttgart - 875k - 5k/wages
Devante Parker - FSV Mainz 03 - 600k - 3.2k/wages
Marvin Mehlem - KSC - 400k - 1.7k/wages
Ozkan Yildirim - Werder Bremen - 750k - 5k/wages
Lukas Klostermann - RB Leipzig - 1.8m - 8k/wages
Koray Gunter - Galatasaray - 1.2m - 7k/wages

Sold:
A ton, every non-German I could. Not listing them all out.

Winter Window
Bought:
Davie Selke - RB Leipzig - 5.4m - 25k/wages
Mahmoud Dahoud - Borussia Monchengladbach - 3.8m - 15k/wages
Nadiem Amiri - Hoffenheim - 1.6m - 8k/wages (bought out loan)
Melvyn Lorenzen - Werder Bremen - 650k - 5k/wages (bought out loan)
Jeremy Dudziak - FC St. Pauli - 1.2m - 5k/wages
Marian Sarr - BVB Dortmund - 670k - 8k/wages
Marvin Friedrich - FC Shalke - 780k - 6k/wages
Marvin Schulz - Borussia Monchengladbach - 600k - 5k/wages
Felix Passlack - BVB Dortmund - 400k - 2k/wages

Sold (only showing German players):
Felix Platte - FC Groningen - 3.5m (kinda debated this one, but he was too slow for me and I got a great offer)
Christopher Schindler - FSV Mainz - 1.7m
Vitus Eicher - 500k

Feel like I have a solid squad to compete for a mid table spot in Bundesliga after another attacking aquistion or a new GK. Will have to see what I can manage. Will do a FUT thing after Summer Window of year 2.

Best feeling on a FIFA game.

Edit - And I'm amazed you got Bale on a free.
