And definitely wait until Black Friday. Microsoft always goes nuts with the promotions around the holidays.

You only need one Live subscription per console. You can use more than one account (I think the maximum is 10).
Buy 1 TB edition. Games are ~45 GB and OS takes a considerable amount. You would want to keep games that you play from time to time like sports games or online games like COD and Halo.
Halo MCC for example takes 70 GB from the hard drive abd I'm keeping it along with NBA 2k15 which takes 45 GB.

1) One gold account will cover every account on that console so long as it's set to be that main account's home console, which is the case by default unless you change it.
2) You'll have to buy a charge kit, or use your own rechargeable batteries
3) Nothing I can think of. However, if you and your family/cousins/etc all buy digital, you could ask one of them to make your Xbox their home console, and that way you can download and play any games they own for free. This can potentially save you tons of money on games.
4) Doesn't really matter since you can supplement your Xbox with USB 3.0 compatible external drive whenever you should run out of space. That said, more space doesn't hurt so you might as well go for the full TB.
5) I'm not really up to date on this
6) Not gonna list all that. Google is your friend. It does pretty much everything you'd expect.
You can share 1 gold account with the family on 1 console I think.
Requires play and charge kit, the official MS one is high quality
If you must go digital I'd recommend a 1TB console. With luck and deletion of old unused games you shouldn't need to worry about storage. You can plug in external hard drives, but that can be quite messy imo.
As some have said, black Friday is a great time to buy a console. Chances are you'll get the 1TB Halo 5 console with Battlefront thrown in for free, and then some.
PS, PS2, Gameboy Advance, PS3, PSP, PS4, Xbox One
My cousin and all his kids got xbones. The cod limited edition ones. I ripped into him until he got a ps4. I said if he can afford to buy 3 xbones then I am sure he can afford a ps4.
Now we play happily against each other.
I would wait for another price cut because I am sure if sony do one that they will folow.
Nobody's perfect. I aint nobody!!!
Killzone 2. its not a fps. it a FIRST PERSON WAR SIMULATOR!!!! ..The true PLAYSTATION 3 launch date and market dominations is SEP 1st ![]()
Thanks for all the quality info peeps.
You all really came through with the details I was looking for.

1) Can I buy one Live subscription and have any number of live login IDs or is it like X360 where you had to pay the yearly live fee per account?
No idea, both me and my wife have our own consoles.
2) Do any of the controllers come with built-in li-ion batteries or must I buy some damn battery kit?
Battery kit, official or third party, or rechatgable AA's
3) Anything I should watch out for? Waste of money? I'm not buying a kinect.
Don't buy xbl in a store, cheaper online, same for games, buy digital for the kids, less chance of games getting scratched, if they have minecraft for 360 you might still be able to buy xbo version digitally at a big discount.
4) 500GB or 1TB? I do plan on doing mostly digital so I'm leaning 1TB but how easy is it to change out the hdd?
Doesnt matter, you can buy a super cheap external 2tb usb drive somewhere down the line if space becomes an issue.
5) Any rumors or ideas what the holiday bundles will be?
No idea but likely cheaper than now. Or at very least with bundled games
6) What are the current set of features (OS and network based) that Xbox One offers?
About all i use mine for is games and watching movies over network share, someone else will answer though.
7) How well does the in-house streaming feature work? Can you pay 2 or 3 local player on a Win10 PC?
No idea but if i had to guess i would assume its simply accessing your xbox game through a pc over the network and not a seperate client for another player. |

Cool! Welcome to the group when you get one.
As others have said the 1TB bundle or Elite is a better deal. You can not swap drives, but you can add a giant external hard drive - like 8TB or more if you are full. And if you get a fast one it will load quicker than the internal drive.
I like Kinect and using it to control my TV Tuner, talking and other things. But you know me, I'm that way.
A couple of other features haven't said:
If you have a Kinect you can let it control your Tuner, Cable Box and/or DVR. With Xbox Live you also get 'Xbox Oneguide' that shows you what is playing on your TV, what is trending, etc. I actually really like this feature. You can also change channel with your voice, set your favorite channels to see quicker, etc.
Some TV tuners, like this one, allow you to play a game, while someone else can stream something on TV to any Windows 10 devices you have.
Next year they are rumored to add a DVR function to Xbox. But you can use the current one to control yours if you have Kinect for its IR blasting.
It can also turn on your TV, Stereo and Tuner or Cable box if you choose it to do that (also needs Kinect.)
7) No idea about his one.
Also remember you will be getting some backwards compatabilty, for about 100 games, soon. All new Xbox 360, Games with Gold will be playable on your Xbox One.
Use the Smartglass App as well. Handy app for gaming, seeing friends clips and purchasing stuff just to name a few useful things.
