You can share 1 gold account with the family on 1 console I think.
Requires play and charge kit, the official MS one is high quality
If you must go digital I'd recommend a 1TB console. With luck and deletion of old unused games you shouldn't need to worry about storage. You can plug in external hard drives, but that can be quite messy imo.
As some have said, black Friday is a great time to buy a console. Chances are you'll get the 1TB Halo 5 console with Battlefront thrown in for free, and then some.
