They are both amazing games. Xenogears is my favorite game ever, so obviously i classify it as better, but CC is not far behind.

Both games really would have benefitted from more modern hardware, as I think they were just a bit too ambitious. Still, CC wins in the aesthetics (visuals, soundtrack, style) department, but XG wins in everything else (story, characters, world, etc). I still think XG has the second best video game story, 1st being Planescape Torment.

Wow....how could you do this? How can I choose between the two? They are both like two of my all time favorite games/RPGS. Like they are up there with The Legend Of Dragoon for me....Like a Holy Trinity no one is greater than the other lol!

Xenogear's high points outshine anything in chrono cross. However cross is good start to finish with great end game material, whereas xenogears is just booty come disc two.

Chrono Cross is my top 10 game. If I had to pick one game world to live in that would be it, but only as an invincible New Game+ character though. Xenogears I got hopelessly stuck in a triple boss fight. I could tell by then that it was an epic game but I hated the random encounters and wasn't sure what I was doing in those mech battles, probably hence I got stuck after a while LOL So CC easy win!

I didn't get Xenogears until about a year or two ago on Vita. I got Chrono Cross back when it first came out. I love Xenogears now and was let down by Chrono Cross back then. For me, X marks the spot.
