Don't these positive reviews point at something unseemly about Destiny?

"making this the unmissable Bungie title that Destiny should’ve been a year ago"

"Systemically, this is the game Destiny should have been from the beginning"

"More importantly, all of what you get with The Taken King makes sense and seems to draw closer to the original Bungie dream that never came to fruition in the original release"

So the people who dropped $60-$100 for Destiny last September need to spend another $40 to get, to quote Cheat Code Central, "the game Destiny should have been from the beginning"?

I understand celebrating the fact that Destiny is now better, but shouldn't we hold Bungie/Activision responsible for such a cynical business practice?

It is a MMO model.

You can say that about every other MMO game in the world.

It grow and get constant updates... even updates that changes the core of the game... that to make the game always fresh and fun.

WTF... Destiny had a 76 metascorce... Reviews doesn't make sense...

This is a new game... even the Destiny vanilla like it was is not there anymore... they changed a lot.

Reveiws makes sense... the game is really that good now... even the story is now in line with old Halo's story.

I didn't got destiny when it got out even if I loved the beta but I'm getting this one even if I think its a bit expensive you still get a lot of content for the price. I was debating between that one and MGS but I never liked MGS for some reason.

Its not an MMO model and you cant say that about every MMO lol. Maybe you just dont have any MMO experience? I cant recall a single MMO that launched with such light content, had expansions that were such jokes, and had so many fundamental design flaws that needed fixing.

Destiny follows the AAA game model, not the MMO model. It just tries to infuse that model with some MMO flair. There is nothing MMO about Destiny.

That said, lol @ there even being any reviews yet. If the game ends on an 89-90 meta, awesome. But the raid is the big draw and its not even out yet. It would be like publishing a Halo 5 review without MP being available.

I tried to play destiny today on my ps4, with no dlc of any kind, and it was forcing a 17 gigabyte update on me... so I turned that off. Fuck that. My question is, is this an update to the base game, or am I being forced to download a part of the taken king expansion or something like that?17 gigs is a big fucking update.

Nothing MMO in Destiny? I'm curious then, what does MMO mean?

I always thought it meant Massively Multiplayer Online or something like that. So, exactly like Destiny...

can someone tell me wtf this game actually is?

is it an expansion that I install ontop of the original destiny games? is it the original game with expansions in it?

therefore wtf do i need the original game for and why shoudl I pay full retail for this lol?

It's a $40 expansion for people who already own the original Destiny and its 2 DLC.

If you don't own any of that, you can buy the original Destiny, the 2 DLCs and the taken king expansion for $60. It's called Destiny: Legendary Edition. This is a great deal for newcomers since you don't have to buy all the previous stuff individually. You get everything, including the new expansion for only $60, which IMO is an amazing deal. You will drown in the sheer amount of content and could be playing the game for months if you really get into it.

Problem is we don't have the cheaper version in Aus only the Legendary edition at $99

I already own the game I don't get why they can't release taken king plus the two expansions only here.

I now feel if I buy this I have a usless limited edition disc lol.

The base game chanted... all the 2.0 basic features for the game (for example the new level system) is free for all.

It is a MMO model... not an AAA game model.

Everytime you stay always from the game you will need to download updates.

And all MMO models grow/updates over the time... the game changes.

Now, I haven't played it since I beat it after the initial launch, but damn.... 17 gigs for an update? Seems rediculous. What's so different that takes 17 gigs?
