i haven't bought the game, maybe early next year or so. valid points and i've check user reviews in yellow and several pros and cons with varying ratings on metacritic. so it is true that kojima's name was on every ending of a chapter, that is really a not so good design. hence some people would really be pissed off.
MGSV got its rating but playing it with different opinion and checking both good and bad about the game is better than just ride off and push it as a 10 and didn't mention it as a con.

Eva is a spy sent to retrieve information from Snake. It's perfectly fitting that she uses her sex appeal to fulfill her mission.

I guess it's because he did a good job on the first Metal Gear Solid and the people writing reviews were players back then. I'm not sure. But yes. Considering that Metal Gear Solid 4 got 94 on Metacritic, I'm sure everything he does, don't matter how bad it is, will always get universal praise. I think The Phantom Pain is a good game, but far from a 10, more like an 8. I also agree with all of your complaints. I like Metal Gear Solid series because those are "joke games", something to play when I'm bored of more mature and serious stuff like Deus Ex, but I'm not blind, I know all of those games are far from perfect. |
Just lol

The real question is why are questioning other people's opinions, because they don't match yours?

Hmmm, and of course there is no room for developing a more mature approach to sexuality in video games, it must remain the peurile preserve of horny teenage boys for ever.
I think the Jimquisition really covered why Quiet's presentation is so backwards and ridiculous. It's the fact Kojima felt the need to have an excuse for why Quiteeis semi-naked. Clearly even Kojima knew having Quite run around in the skimpiest of get ups was dodgy as hell, so he had to make up the lamest possible "super-power" of she breathes through her skin as the smallest of fig leafs to justify having such an objectified character.
The problem with frat-boy sexualisation in video games is that it is the most sexist presentation of female sexuality possible. Most people are OK with T&A in games, movies, TV as long as the context is reasonable. And more importantly as long as the female character owns it in most settings.
But more importantly, when you put sexiness into what you are making, make damned sure it is sexy and not creepy. The Quiet stuff I saw in the Jimquisition footage was just creepy. I'll get to ass-ess it in all its context some time soon when I play the game for myself. But so far it looks like really bad C-grade stuff.

I get what your saying but I don't see how its "creepy" lol. Besides if this were 10 years ago no one would care. You know the game God Hand? God have mercy on our souls if it was released today.

That seems to be the way it works. If the reviewers like a game you like then the praise is deserved. If they like a game you don't like then they're riding the creator's dick. I don't think people stop to think about how ignorant and childish they sound. I mean, bloody hell, that comes across as so incredibly dumb. All these separate people, they're all "on Kojima's dick"?
It doesn't even make sense to me. Shouldn't the thought process be, "maybe they have different tastes in games"? Instead, it's "BLARG BLARG THEY'RE ON HIS DICK." Just, seriously, UGH. Why try to build rationalizations for opinions being different when you can just simply accept that they're different?

I admit it offers a lot of freedom in how to tackle missions, has a great sense of progressoin and the difficult raises perfectly along you raise your capabilities. The buddy system, the gadgets, building up mother base, etc. It all fits together greatly, making a damn strong core of the game. BUT, how can a game be unanimously called a masterpieces when:
So don't get me wrong, I still enjoyed the game, because the core gameplay mechanics work perfectly, but damn, I just get mad about how this industry likes to lick that man's balls and ignore all the flaws and contradictions in his work. UNANIMOUSLY. Or maybe I am delusional and see things the rest of the world doesn't, so tell me what you think. |
