Hmmm, and of course there is no room for developing a more mature approach to sexuality in video games, it must remain the peurile preserve of horny teenage boys for ever. I think the Jimquisition really covered why Quiet's presentation is so backwards and ridiculous. It's the fact Kojima felt the need to have an excuse for why Quiteeis semi-naked. Clearly even Kojima knew having Quite run around in the skimpiest of get ups was dodgy as hell, so he had to make up the lamest possible "super-power" of she breathes through her skin as the smallest of fig leafs to justify having such an objectified character. The problem with frat-boy sexualisation in video games is that it is the most sexist presentation of female sexuality possible. Most people are OK with T&A in games, movies, TV as long as the context is reasonable. And more importantly as long as the female character owns it in most settings. But more importantly, when you put sexiness into what you are making, make damned sure it is sexy and not creepy. The Quiet stuff I saw in the Jimquisition footage was just creepy. I'll get to ass-ess it in all its context some time soon when I play the game for myself. But so far it looks like really bad C-grade stuff. |
I get what your saying but I don't see how its "creepy" lol. Besides if this were 10 years ago no one would care. You know the game God Hand? God have mercy on our souls if it was released today.
