Not sure what you're so upset about. Just because you don't like mcdonald's doesn't mean other people should also not.

I don't like fast food in general, ps.

But you know, there are a lot of people who hate mcdonalds, but every once in a while, they'll get a big mac.

I'm not upset, but to say Destiny had no hype is ridiculous.

I'm pretty sure that dude was referring to everyone downtalking it, but yeah, it totally had hype.

I agree more with the OP title that the hype is real. Hype translated to met expectations.

Worth every penny I spent on it, of course haters are going to keep on hating, nothing that can be done to change their opinion.

It is insane how much hype there seems to be a for an expansion to what basically equated to a $60+ demo last year, as that is all Bungie saw fit to be bothered releasing. And now, after having to pay $120+ for one fucking game.........apparently that's something to be excited about?

Sorry....lol. Even for massive FPS fans...I don't think so. It's a ripoff. And a really shitty direction that the industry is continuing to take. And the problem is, BECAUSE the game (and this expansion) are selling so well, other big companies are just going to take that as more proof that "the model works", because people are apparently gullible, and totally willing to pay more for literally less content/value. And if companies can GIVE gamers less and less, for more $$$$$, nickel and diming them along by sprinkling out content that should have been in the fucking game in the first place......then they are absolutely going to do that, and KEEP doing that.

I'm sorry, but that is a very sad road to be heading down, both for game developers, and gamers alike.

Honestly this DlC is underwhelming as fuck. The story is about 6 missions long and playing the same old stages, unbelievable.Do not fall for the hype, this is not worth $40.

"The Taken King’s first eight missions..."

Ops... official sources because my word is biased even when I played over 6 missions and didn't finished the story yet... I will count later but the game has 10-12 new story missions up to where I played.

To get to finish the game is 8 missions max,I'm talking about beating Oryx.Takes 1hour to a hour and a half,I know I played it.And saying the story is deep is a pure joke.I will not list spoilers but it is far from deep.

If you are a social gamer and have friends who play this game or if you want to make friends then you have a higher chance of liking the game. I say higher chance because you may still disagree with the business model. Chances are you will spend a loooooot of time on it if you have friends that do; the loot grind will sweep you up. Money is a personal and subjective measurement of what you will put into and get out of the game.

I've played the 5 billion overhyped FPS before it.
