Very interesting pick indeed.
It's nice to see the company moving forward.

Very interesting pick. And looking at what he's done so far, it seems like a reasonable choice. Also gotta love how Miyamoto is called "Creative Fellow" and Takeda is called "Technology Fellow" in the document.
Edit: Also something I just thought of. Does this mean he will be the CEO of NOA as well now?
Your thread was beaten by fractions of a second according to VGChartz:

The mod team will decide which one stays opened, but if it were up to me, I would solve this with Thunderdome:

Nintendo is selling their IPs to Microsoft and this is true because:

Probably not. On the 16th we'll apparently see the full overview for the structural changes, and I wouldn't doubt they give NoA to somebody else rather than continue Iwata's trend.
Though, at the same time, if it's true that he currently lives near NoA's HQ, he may be well enough versed with the states to understand the consumers here.
You should check out my YouTube channel, The Golden Bolt! I review all types of video games, both classic and modern, and I also give short flyover reviews of the free games each month on PlayStation Plus to tell you if they're worth downloading. After all, the games may be free, but your time is valuable!

I really hope those continue soon (and I think they will)!
I hope he's more like Yamauchi. No disrespect to the late Iwata, but I prefer the hardcore, take no prisoners approach of his former boss. Nintendo was the shit during the NES/SNES years.
Well one would hope he'd be more in tune with Western gamers, but at the same time his tenure at NOA wasn't really that great. From 2002-2006 NOA became pretty much stripped of all its previous power. He's not that young either at age 65. Hopefully he can do a good job.
