Its a very big and popular show. Everyone watches it! Dunno how you managed to hide under a rock for all these years. ^^
Theres a telltale game aswell wich isnt too bad after you have catched up.
For all GoT fans (I'm one too), do you think G.R.R.M will be able to finish his books before he dies? Also you guys heard that theory that he may pull the greatest troll move ever with the TV series and people who only got into the G.o.T due to the T.V series!?

Who knows if he'll finish. Obviously I hope does because I love the series and he's been saying that he wants to release Winds of Winter before Season 6 premieres, but who knows.
It's the main reason I'm still going to watch the show even though I know some major events will be spoiled for me.
The TV series is good until the 4th season. The 5th season is bad : really different from the books, no politics at all, useless and ridiculous travels and actions from the main characters...
GRRM doesn't seem happy about the changes, he complained on his blog about people writing to him about it, saying that he wasn't responsible for what happens in the series anymore.
The manuscripts of the last books are already written IIRC and he is working on it again (he did too much PR and conventions for a while). I think it will be really different from the TV series (which consist only of boobs and dramatic deaths for buzz now), surely better, and I'm pretty sure the TV series viewers will have to read all the books one day if they want the true (and good) ending.

The last book he promised fans will be coming soon and it came soon... after 6 years. The book before was 5 years.
I think the TV series will finish before the books. The books will go way beyond what the TV producers think is the final book and in the end, will be left with what we have with the greatest unfinished fantasy story, the Silmarillion :(
