I slacked and missed pre-orders of Zero Suit Samus, but since that's the ONLY and LAST amiibo I actually want, that's all I have to get tomorrow.
So, no panic, just hoping to get the final piece!

I am. I have Bowser Jr., Dr. Mario, and modern 8 Bit Mario all coming from Japan, and the retro 3 pack from Gamestop, so I just need to get the other four. But it seems like the numbers being posted as stock at all the stores are very low. I think I will head over to Gamestop at 4AM. Lucky me to only have 1 in a 30 mile radius. For insurance though I'm sending the hubby to Walmart then Fred Meyer when they open.
Systems I own: Switch, Wii U, Wii, N64, Retron 5 for my Ness, SNES, Genesis, Gameboy line games, Dreamcast, PS2, New 3DS.

The instant another Toad amiibo is announced my amiibo hunt begins anew! Hopefully Nintendo wises up and makes a Toadette, Captain Toad, and Toadsworth amiibo. I'd buy those.
Can you not just order online or do click and collect? Or is that not something US retailers let you do for this stuff?
I dunno the situation in the states but here in aus amiibo's don't seem to be selling out as quickly as they used to. I think Nintendo have a better handle on meeting demand these days (I have yet to have missed out on any amiibo through preordering.

Same thing here. I'm not worried about the launch at all. The only amiibo I may not be able to get is Bowser Jr at Toys R'US, if he sells out that is. Otherwise, I'll have the rest of the wave today.

No panic at all, now amiibos are pretty easy to find, looks like Nintendo is producing more and now they are less attractive for re-sellers as is harder to get into a sold-out situation so the price is almost the same as the store, little point in buying many units.
In my country we actually have an over-saturation of some amiibos, they brought too many units of 8-bit Mario and Pacman and stores are trying to get some odd exclusivities, but they don't know which figurines and in which numbers to get, so we got into pretty strange situations, were Charizards was an exclusive but they had many units, and none exclusive like Ness was hard to get.
I got my Classic Mario amiibo with my Mario Maker purchase. Got my nephew his Ganondorf one as well.
And now, because I got one amiibo for myself, I am starting to buy others.... damn collector's mentality!
Nah, I've already bought all the amiibos I intend to get.
Here, I'll post a picture of them as well:
