So it's basically the port of the mobile version. I just recently finished it on android and it's a great port. You will appreciate it even more if you see how shitty of a port FFVI had.

Also still best 2D FF by a mile.

Don't know about that, i like 4 and 6 a lot too, Exdeath is probably the least interesting from the 3(or 4) main villains (Golbez/Zemus, Exdeat and Kefka).
But it is a great game.
