A new Mana was announced in April and SE will probably say more about it at TGS!

I doubt there will be a FF VIII Remake though. But a remaster would do. And since we are here I'm still hopelessly waiting for a Legacy of Kain/Soul Reaver reboot.

wasn't there already a FF tactics 2 for the DS which was terrible? pretty sure i played that years ago

That was a sequel to the GBA game Final Fantasy Tactics Advance or something, so it was named A2.
I want a proper game in the likes of the original FF Tactics, which makes this game doubly harder to even hope for.
I don't even know why I'm even hoping, seeing as hope eventually turns into despair...

They had Tactics Advanced 2 for the ds, but was part of the Tactics Advanced series and not Tactics, and it was amazing. Would go for a TA3.
