Geez, you guys gotta calm down on treating the hourlies as gospel. As it currently stands, the PS4 has two SKUs in the top 100 monthly chart counting for this month, while the XBO has three. Granted, PS4 is @ #9 & #83, while the XBO is @ #53, #92 & #94, but I think you guys are severely overestimating the significance of this hourly snapshot, even though it has been going on for a few days.

Every day eventually adds up to a month. PS4 wins this month easily and I know that NOT because I look at the monthlies but because I follow the dailies, which then gets reported eventually in the monthlies. Why wait a whole month when you can see the potentail result at the beginning of the month, the likely result in the middle of the month and the outcome towards the end of the month? If people just want to wait until the end of the month that's fine. I prefer watching how it goes ALL month. Keeping up with the dailies has produced a 100% record for who eventually appears in the lead in the monthlies.

Yeah, but people act like the current hourly snapshot is in any way representative for the rest of the month, which it rather clearly isn't.

One snapshot is in no way representative of the whole month, I agree. I can't recall anyone looking at the first week and assuming it's going to stay that way all month, BUT, looking at the bundles MS have now and the bundles they've just announced, I think it's far from a stretch to imagine the PS4 trend continuing, at least a week or two into October.

Really curious to see where this bundle gets in the charts and how long it sticks around. I don't see it striking a chord with the wider market. Don't think 1TB is a particularly big deal to a lot of people, combined with a collection of older games that is cheap anyway, plus Gears Remaster, which is decent but I'm not sure it will excite people, and then Ori is a non-entity frankly. For $399.

Last year's bundles were better than this one.

No where is my guess, at least not until it's released. This is not a bundle that people will pre-order because all the games are avaiable now. My question is why wait until the end of October for this bundle to hit the market? If the bundles are all coming at the end of October, some of them, like thie Gears Ultimate+2 bundle have enough time to be forgotten. I hope this is the least impressive of all the bundles coming, because as you say, a remaster, a remake compendium of old games and very good but niche game that's available on PC is not a very attractive proposition to convince people to spend an extra $50.

Another $400 bundle...
Oh boy if PS4 gets a price cut it won't be even funny.

Well, there is still two or three bundles to get revealed.

I really don't think Sony will do that. The bundles they already have just need a little extra value. Just adding TLOUR or even Driveclub to those bundles would sustain them through November, but they may not even have to bother doing that either.

They should, they are doing it  in Asia that already was cheaper to get one.

They should follow in the US and EU, there is no need to create a broken balance between regions, being a global product it is.

They would also want to have it to Black Friday, and we'll have MS bundles at 350 announced (at least one).

They don't need it now, but they can do it and they should do it as they are doing it Asia.

The PS2 would never need a price cut and yet it got them, it's good to keep high interest on it rather than just keep winning by default.

Yea, I think they'll wait til mid Oct, if not then it'll definitely be Paris Week, to announce a cut in the US.  I think it'll definitely only be a $50 one with how sales are going.  They'll use it as a counter to Halo, in an attempt to take away a possible win for the XBO for Oct NPD.

Don't think anyone said that it was.  However, if it remains that way for hours, then days, it's definitely going to affect the monthly.  Which takes awhile to fully update, by the way.  This trend is also probably also going to continue into to Oct, which could disrupt XBO's expected win.

Globally, in the US ;)

I took a look at the best sellers for the Uk and it looks like X1 might win this month due to the fifa bundle.

Have you got a link to the monthly numbers? I can only find the hourly numbers.  I'll also add that it doesn't work with the UK Amazon for some reason.
