Yeah, but people act like the current hourly snapshot is in any way representative for the rest of the month, which it rather clearly isn't.

Don't think anyone said that it was.  However, if it remains that way for hours, then days, it's definitely going to affect the monthly.  Which takes awhile to fully update, by the way.  This trend is also probably also going to continue into to Oct, which could disrupt XBO's expected win.
