Nah it's Sony, MS and almost every other company on the planet who wants money. Yet sometimes they want it a bit too much like Harry potter 7 part 1/part 2 much. I zm not saying Forza is at that point already but if they release another Horizon next year it's starting to look like overmilking.

I would argue titles like MLB The Show, Madden, WWE 2K and other sports are worse with the annual stuff.

Atleast with Forza their annual releases are different. Sim racer one year, open world the next. I wouldnt mind another Horizon a year from now. Maybe they will try something more story driven like NFS has as well. But if they did another sim next year or two open world games in a row, that would feel excessive.

For sport games and COD games it's widely known, but what's the point of Forza 7 in 2 years. Forza 5 lacked content which Forza 6 made up for, what meaningfull content could 7 get since it already has rain, dark/night besides cars and tracks which could easily be a DLC package. For instance I also think DC 2 would be BS if it launches next year. GT is releasing for simcade racers done right 2 times a gen is enough.

Hey, I dont completely disagree. If Forza 7 doesent do anything significant Id be fine with them taking a year off. I mean Forza 4 wasnt a significant update from my recollection, nor was GT6 and that came several years later.

Regardless, a new release every couple years doesent feel that excessive to me especially if it adds a lot of new cars and tracks.

These are really long generations now. So I dont agree two releases a gen is enough. I would like more especially if they make significant improvment or content additions.

Im fine a new CoD a year. Its like a dumb action movie I look forward to every year. Also they have three teams making them now so thats more development time. Frankly, the problem with CoD isnt they happen every year. They just need to a better job at making the campaigns fun.

Im no fan of racing games, but i want to see what GT brings to the table.

GT6 from what i know, was some kind of dissapointment.

GT6 was a fine expansion to GT5.

I imagine a cross gen GT6 would have done really well on PS4. But maybe Sony didnt want to put 7th assets on their new machine. Atleast not until Last of Us.

GT is nice but it also lacks a few things found in Forza. I like the amount of cars available but not being able to paint the cars nor visualy tune them is a turn off. Also Drivatar is a must now.

The rain looks fine, the thing i did not like is the feel that the cars are floating above the tarmac. Some cars in gt5 had that problem too.

I wonder if it's something similar to the floating car effect in DC (that turned out was actually an accurate portrayal of real world lighting). I remember them using this image as an example:

nice pic... but its not just a visual feel i get, its that and the physics that somehow give me the feeling that the car isn't connected to the ground...

i felt  that in gt5 in some cars but not all, in gt6 i don't remember ever getting that feeling and in driveclub neither

maybe if i play it for myself the feeling won't be so present.

True. But nobody is forcing Microsoft to release a Forza game every year.

Real fans should request the best game that Turn 10 can make, if that takes more than a year of development, so be it.

I understand people wanting more time between each Forza releases but they are games of great quality. Following the content of a game like DC vs that of Forza games I rather have less graphics and way more content. For a game that got delayed for one year and got the effects even later, I personnaly think real fans should demand the best from DC's devs and ask for more than pretty graphics.

Agreed!

In hope that the series returns to its true form? Many are!

DCs rain is still unbelievable, PS4 superior horsepower needs the thanks for that.

Only game that has a chance in hell of surpassing it is GT if KAz goes crazy on weather effects.

The best weather effects has to go to Forza 6, as the rain more realistically affects how your car handles. You will get different friction on wet roads with different surface textures, you get realistic puddles that cause hydroplaning at various speeds, etc. Driveclub's weather mostly affects visuals, while Forza's rain best affects what matters most - Gameplay, while still looking fairly good as well.

It sold great compared to most racers but disappointing numbers for the series.

In my opinion, they should have made some visual improvments GT6 and push it as the ultimate edition on PS4 for like $40. People would have loved that and I think it would have sold millions, instead they did God of War III.

I disagree with nearly everyone.... *shock*

Before Driveclub I believed 60 frames is king. Then Drive Club happened, the weather elements really enhanced the racing experience. I can't believe how much a race changes depending on the weather.

I'm now in the 60 frames + Weather>30 frames + Weather>60 frames w/o camp. Of course this is weather done right. It truly makes a unique experience that has to be played to truly understand. Then again Forza 2 and Drive Club are some of my favorite racers, but for different reasons....

Forza is consistently good, so I'm stoked...weather or not.
