And you are still completely unable to understand that thanks to that the comunity has grown big and strong and now the experience is way better thanks to that, you just feel the need to criticize everything even when you are prove to be wrong, and it happens quite a bit.

What is the next thing are you gonna do, criticize Mario Maker for being a incomplete moneygrab because most the content is locked on day 1 in order to teach the player a bit more everyday and keep the interest high for more than 2 days? Because that sounds freaking familiar to other game that you love to critique nobody knows why.

That's another absurd decision but can be fixed. The other not. And I don't have anything more to understand. I understood perflectly since day one because that's a practice that other companies has been doing for years. Just because is done by Nintendo it doesn't mean is right.

No you don´t understand it all. Those other companies did that to make you PAY for content that should be already unlocked in the game, there was absolutely no intention of that with Splatoon, at all, as they are not making you pay for the content, is a game design to teach an entire comunity and keep the interest high for months, wich is essential in order to keep an online shooter that nobody knew before, alive. It´s freaking simple to understand, and you still comparing it with games that are shamelessly uncomplete just because they want you to buy Dlc, as i said before, you love to criticize everything just because.

You paid for that content since day 1. Everything else is wrong if you can't understand that.

No, Nintendo said clearly and excatly what the content on the game was on day 1, so you paid knowing exactly what you were buying and knowing that it would grow more and more for the next few months, and at the end, they ended up delivering way more than expected, as nobody expected so many new weapons, new gear, and the new maps turned to be quite awesome. But you not only don´t appreciate at all the fact that Nintendo rewarded the confidence of their buyers big time with Splatoon, or that the game is more alive than ever right now thanks to that design choice, but you are still nitpicking about it even when you are already proved to be wrong.

The content on day 1 was never clear as they promised "updates" in the coming months. Nobody could have known how big or small was the game. The only fact is that all the content they promised was not free.

The content on day 1 was perfectly clear, they did a whole Nintendo Direct just for that, the upcoming content was an incognita but people trust them and they delviered big time, and you are comparing this with companies that make you pay for more content after selling you an incomplete game and hiding the lack of content until the release, where with Splatoon they were always honest and they completely delivered with the  content. this is not a money grab, this is a DESIGN choice, you can like it or not, but you can´t call that bad business, at all, they told you what you were buying, they promised you more for no extra money, and they delivered big time, THERE IS NO ROOM FOR ANY NITPICKING, and you still trying to find the evilness where there is nothing.

I completly disagree. But you can still enjoy your game. The only thing I hope is in the future this practice ends. I don't want to wait for months to play a new dungeon in a Zelda game or to obtain the Gravity Suit in a future Metroid weeks after launch, that must have been on the game since day one.

Is not gonna happen because:

1. There is no need to make learn an entire comunity about how to play the game, because those games are not about comunities but single player experiences, a tutorial is more than enough.

2. There is no need to keep the interest for those games high for several months because both are very famous franchises that don´t need it and the quality of the experience doesn´t rely on how many people is still playing the game, as they are, again, single player experiences.

So you don´t need to worry about it, with Splatoon it was a need, and the result was mostly positive.

Now better if we stop this because we are derrailing this thread too much :P

Not trying to interfere in your discussion but i think he is not talking about any evilness, just that is a stupid practice. Just like the 9 day unblock of content on Mario Maker.

CD Project made a great example with The Witcher 3.

Massive game with weekly new free content. Nobody complained about it because the game is so huge that you wouldnt miss a couple of new quests.

I heard that Splatton when launched was very plain.

Same here, and I've done it before. Even got a OUYA with my name etched on it (250$ tier on Kickstarter) and still using that console.

I'm so sorry.

While I don't have an ouya cause the few good games on it are also somewhere else, I'd rather play Decay and Towerfall than Halo 5 (and other first party AAAs from all 3)

Except it isn't. It has been proven to work really well as the game has great legs. The 9 day Mario thing is stupid, but you can just change the internal clock of the Wii U anyway.

How?

Like i said. I heard that Splatoon was very plain in the beggining, how is that good?

At the end of the day, when all the content is given to the owner eventually, that should be the game that they were supposed to bring since the beggining, paid or not.

Its mind boggling how some people defends Nintendo taking 9 days to give you the entire game that you are paying since day one, so you can "learn" how to play the game in those 9 days LOL

If that is not Nintendo underestimating our intelligence, i dont know what is...
