Was I the only one finding it underwhelming? So many people were saying stuff like "Oh, the final boss is so awesome, it alone makes it worth it to play through the campaign" etc. but I didn't really think it was that special. Maybe the people hyping the boss up ruined it for me

Different strokes for different folks I guess.

R & C fanboy alert. :p

(you know I'm joking)

Second best final boss in a game I played this year (the best being Zanza by a longshot).

Don't know who Zanza is but I bet he was better than Splatoon's final boss.

It wasn't bad, but I just didn't think it was particularly great.

Watch this if you have no intention of ever playing Xenoblade Chronicles:

nice with heropon Riki. :)

OP: Glad you've enjoyed the final boss of Splatoon, it was really an entertaining experience.  Haven't seen something like that for a while.  It is like a mastery exam of different skills on the single player campaign brought into the final epic fight with cool music.

I would like to repeat the campaign if I have those two different amiibos and see how would it fair with those weapons.

I agree. He is going most memorable final boss's ever.

You spent 40 minutes with the boss? What were you doing? lol
But yeah, it was pretty epic.

Xord > Zanza

In my opinion

The Last Story's final boss is so freaking epic too

Last boss was great. Great music, great challenge, combines many of the obstacles and challenges you encounter in single-player. That's a boss done right.

I died like 2 or 3 times at the last section of the boss because I wasn't paying too much attention at times to what was coming.. :/

Can't blame you for that - it's just how the boss is designed. The longer the fight goes on, the more crap he throws at you, and by the end it's really hard to keep track and control of everything that's going on.

It's also very easy to fall off those narrow platforms! That was the only section of the boss that gave me any real trouble.

This is true and I've died more than 5 times. There was this fight that he kept throwing at me, maybe 3rd or 4th fight.  It was just a blast fighting this boss.

Yeah the campaign is like a 5/10 but the 9-10/10 final boss makes it worth your time.
The game is clearly focused on multiplayer but after the success of the first game Im hoping Nintendo give them more resources for Spla2n so they can also flesh out the sinlgeplayer while maintaining the excellent multiplayer

Best boss fight in a Nintendo game since the Quadraxis in MP2 (2004). And that is a BIG deal, because Quadraxis was fucking awesome.
