The intro chapter cannot be changed. It's the past and is meant to be a tutorial. The doctor/psychiatrist tells you this after you finish the prologue that the past cannot be changed.

Yeah.... but the skeptic in me is always going to wonder how much can it change? I mean we're always going to be limited by disc space and what can realistically be programmed. I'll do my best to fool my self when I play, though.

I do hope you don't spend too much time replaying just the intro chapter lol. There are 10 more chapters that has a lot of branching paths after all.
