Forums - Gaming - Hatred for Microsoft skewing vision of good gaming console

"am i just a Sony fanboy on a rant, or are MS really trying to dick us as gamers?"

I wouldn't say that. However, i'd like to re-phrase this.

The problem with MS, they don't take the console/gaming business serious. And/or have a huge lack of understanding.

Microsofts net income vastly outclasses Sonys. Yet, they have way fewer own studios, obviously leading to less exclusives (even Nintendo has a larger output) and new original brands. However, investing billions and millions in two existing game franchises, Minecraft and Tomb Raider, one that can be played on office calculators and the other to counter Uncharted 4, which Sony circumvented by shifting the release date, thus concentrating exclusive releases for 2016 even more - games for PS4 including PM. For HoloLens the focus doesn't lie on games. They try to merge gaming and old fashioned TV TV TV (Quantum Break), what will certainly not bear fruit. And a Halo TV TV TV series.

There are going to be another three gaming events with major importance for PS4 this year - TGS, PGW and PS XP. What did MS present at E3 and Gamescom and is there anything else big planned for 2015? Redmonds plan for 2016 doesn't look very sound so far. Far less exclusivety, no worth mentioning events, therefore no more announcements, marketing/PR. Whereas Sonys 2015(Q4 )/2016 schedule is already filled to the brim, with more announcements and release dates pending.

False.

Every gamer deserves a good dickin' every once in a while.

MS is the most interesting company in console business in good and bad. All their goofy stuff and messups just add to their appeal. No need to take it personally, if you feel they're dicking you simply don't pay for what they are offering. I've been very pleased with their products and service.

I think your title is misleading. But your title describes this generation imo. Not only this gen but so many people put other companies on a pedestal so much that they forget what makes a good game. Today's gamer judge games based on resolution, on "real true retail (have to be on my platform of choice and cater to my tastes) exclusives", on metacritics, on a shadow zoomed 10x just to see some pixels aren't on par bla bla bla.

A good gaming console imo is the one that has the games you want to play. But when you force yourself to play games on a console because you have hatred for other consoles that have games you like then you are the one not enjoying this magnificent hobby properly.

It was one of the first online services on consoles good enough to get millions of users to pay for. Supply and demand... ;)

MS bring me some good RPG (not some goofball rpg like scaleborn i cant get in my head the main hero with **** headphone on his head complety rediculous IMO) that was enough to make my head go aways from it (i might bite to buy a X1 if they patch it to remove that dr dre headphone on the main character head)

Okay, this is just objectively dumb.

The X1 has and is getting RPGs. If you want JRPGs, you should consider going else where.

Scalebound is a game theyre funding but they generally leave creative control to the deveoper. If all it takes is headphones to turn you off to a game... well go play something else.

Scalebound is stupid generally, why would you get attacked when you have a dragon. It is so powerful you can just get the dragon to do everything. The dragon simply being there makes the game complete garbage and easy. The whole premise is completely ridiculous, try again platinum.

I don't know who exactly did it first but I know Sega on the Dreamcast made you pay monthly for their service SegaNet and that was before Xbox. These info are all over the internet.

No, this is not correct. In general online gaming was without charge. I know that for sure because i played games online on the DC. Nevertheless, it wasn't MS who charged for online gaming first. A game called Everquest did that even before Xbox1 . ;)
